Well reading all these answers let me know that most people answering them do not posess a CDL in no matter what state you reside you can obtain a CDL being a felon however most states will not let you have a Haz-Mat endorsment on your CDL after being convicted of a felony we have 9/11 to thank for that..

I am sure if you if you stop ed at a truck stop for longer than five minutes, you might see some one that has a felony conviction.
Yes you can get your CDL getting hired is the other story, you most likely have to run with a small company.
You will not be able to go to Mexico or Canada there is no loss there. Other than do not let past mistakes hold you back, I hope you have turned over a new leaf and stay out of trouble. So go get your CDL and do good for your self.

yes you can and you can even get a haz-hat depending on the felony. as far as jobs goes with a felony military bases are starting to not let you on.(if your felony is a drug charge with the last 5 years personally i recommend not even going after a cdl because the carrier's insurance will not look good on that. )

Yes, in most states there is no ban against a felon receiving a CDL.
Getting a job with a felony beef on your rap sheet....that's a whole other issue.

there is no law against getting a cdl if you have a felony, depending on what kind of felony and how long ago you may have a tough time hiring on with any of the major fleets. if the felony has to do with driving, such as felony drunk driving, hit and run, veh. manslaughter, etc. don't even bother to apply with swift, jb hunt, etc.

TUFF one hon. There are a lot of things you WILL NEVER be able to do, unless you get a Presidential Pardon. But, driving MAY NOT be ONE of them! I'm not a lawyer, so I can't say for certain. I know that it's REAL rough getting a STATE job after a felony conviction, and you will NEVER be able to get a Securities license, with a felony conviction.

i have a felon for residential burglary. Would that stop me from getting cdl license.
