the poor isuzu 2WD 4cyl i have is dead at 70.000 miles but still the body is like new, i plan to install front and rear 1985 toyota axles and leaf springs ,the trans and transfur case as well, for a power plant i have a 1975 MERCEDES inline 4cyl diesel, w/ custom fab bell housing from 3/4 aluminum plate to mount the toyota trans, the tires are 38's on alcoa rim's, all parts to be powder coated or s-steel, i want to build a very strong and clean mercedes 4x4 unlike anyone else has,, my QUESTION is if i use a gear set of -513 should that be low enough to help out the 67 HP diesel 4cyl mercedes engine and still get a little fuel mileage, my final gearing is key to make this work correctly,i can fab most anything, but need advice from a 4x4 guy on my gear choice, thanks for any help on this, oh about the mercedes motor choice' simple this engine will last longer than any other possibly could.
