A 1-6
B 2-5
C 3-4
If you have top-stop injectors, then the injectors are late by one stop and only 5 in/lb rather than ft/lb.
When the correct sequence is either not known, or inconvenient to follow (only one side apart, a very good rule of thumb is to roll the engine over slowly and note which valve(s) open. When that valve is fully open, the mate to it can't get any more closed. Adjust that one. Then proceed to the next open valve, and adjust its mate.
(MATE 1 intake valve mated to 1 exhaust valve per cylinder) If you have a multi-valve arrangement, use a bit of cranial power to identify the correct valves>
The down side of this method is that it can take longer as you have to rotate the engine at least 2 full revolutions (perhaps more) but id does save that wonderment of which sequence to follow, particularly if you don't work in a garage that specializes in a particular make.
