I have a metallic silver 2003 Toyota Matrix hatchback. I have a dime sized blop of sticky goo on the hood of my car. I live in east Texas and it is reaaaaaally hot and humid these days so very often times, the goo is pretty soft. It feels glue-y to the touch when it is warmed by the sun. I don't think it is bug parts, and I don't know if it is sap, because sometimes I park under trees but not usually. How to remove it safely?
Another question, brief: it has only happened once for about 5 miles of travel (trip to the corner gas station) but it perplexed me. My dome light inside flickered off and on the whole trip, 3 or 4 seconds on, faded off, back on in about 10 seconds. My doors were all firmly shut. No significant bumping around to indicate a short. No problems with the battery, it is in good condtion.
Last question: how to get my car up off the ground a bit. I scrape on a very steep driveway, and lots of other shallower inclines. Costs? Appearance and resale concerns?
