Was the 1990 a carb engine? You must have the 4.2 liter.
I have a 1991 4.0 and it is Multiport Fuel injected.
I don't see why it wouldn't work.
The 4.2 liter will never breathe 650Cfm, I ran the numbers and you would have to be turning about 7800 rpm to pump that kind of air, and your 4.2 isn't going there.
A 450cfm Holly spread bore is a much better fit and is still more Carb than you will need.

Doesn't sound like a good Idea to me. Something isn't going to work right there. I would think if there's an adapter plate wouldn't the motor drown in fuel when the 4 bbl kicked open, due to there not being enough air going into the 2bbl manifold. Just save up the few hundred bucks and go for the 4bbl manifold.

1990 Wrangler didn't have a carb in the U.S. You can tell if it is a Throttle body injection if it looks like a carb, but it has wires to the injectors when your looking at the top of the "carb". I am not sure about if it will work with a carb, but 350 cfm is a performance carb, and it is as large as a 4.0 or 4.2 would need unless you had it really set up to go. Remember you have an in-line 6 cylinder motor not a big block V-8, and if you ever set up a 4.0 or 4.2 to run a 650 well I would love to see a clip of that.

The 90 jeep has Throttle Body injection. It looks exactly like a carburetor, except it has 2 injectors inside instead of venturies and float bowls, etc. The TBI also uses around 16 pounds of fuel pressure, while that carb will not be able to handle any more then 8. You can't use the same pump and you can't regulate the pressure down. You will have to replace it with an aftermarket in line electric fuel pump and disconnect the in tank pump and hope it will draw gas through it otherwise you'll have to modify that. You will find a noticeable drop off in high end power, loss of acceleration, and loss of mileage.

Ii might work but not much improvement. You will only be flowing a little more of air through the adapter plate and intake. Look into boring out the intake manifold at the gasket, ive heard about this but never seen it. Good luck.
Very true, it should be throttle body that year.

It will work if you bought the correct adapter. They also sell the entire manifold that will allow you to bolt the carb right on.

IF your jeep came with a carburetor, I would be surprised. (unless it came from Mexico, where I've seen a brand new Ford with a points distributor).
