I have been looking for the right work at home job for years. I've invested allot of money and they all have been too good to be true or too difficult to assemble or require too much money up front. I'm just hoping one day I'll find one that I can truly be able to do and make money doing it! I am not a lazy person, I like working with my hands and doing repetitive work. Please help me find something out there!!!

My retired mother picked up quilting as a new hobby. Our home is decorated in contemporary style and we can't use the quilts in decorating it. I'd like to sell them and mom has made quite a few quilts. Is there a store, company, wholeseller, etc that buys home made quilts ?

The bank is holding a check that was made out to my friends business for 7 business days, is this legal? He also went to the bank of which the customer gave him the check and they would not cash the check or give him a cashier's check. If the customer writes the check out to him in his name they will cash it. Does anyone out there know about banking rules, and would you tell me if this is the norm. Thanks, Bethy

Let's say I have £5000. What would be a good small business idea to invest this money into? Something that would make me a good return or something that I can do as a full-time job and make a reasonable living out of? No internet businesses please! No muli-level either, please! Something reasonable! Thanking you.

It doesn't have to be your official title. HR people do it quite often, or if you're a small business owner, would you do an email interview for me? I need it for a paper due Wed. in my marketing class. I will send the questions Tuesday. Nothing too involved, just basic information. Any takers to help a struggling student? Leave me an email address and a blurb about where you work. If you prefer not to post your email address (spammers) just say and I'll send it to your Yahoo account you post with.

Thanks to all who offer to help.

I own a small lawn care business that I started years ago as a young teenager while still in middle school. I run the business throughout highschool, built it up, purchased alot of equipment...even had a number of full time seasonal employees a year back. But I've now graduated high school and am in college full time. I still run the business on the weekends (live close to home), but I can't decide if I should sell the business/equipment and do sometime less equipment intensive (such as cleaning/painting...even online business), or keep it going...

I'm trying to support myself through college, so money is an issue, but there are student loans. I did limit my college selection due to the business so I could stay close, but would like to go to some higher schools at some point.

Running the business solo I make about $20K/year working part time during the growing season. But insurance and equipment upkeep eat into that.

What would you do? I want to get into money management as a career

For a sole propritor small retail service business - The first year in business resulted in a substantial loss compared to income. Which is normal as there were a lot of one-time costs and you can take 179 deductions on furniture and equipment purchased. Can that loss be carried over to the next year?
