I am 21 years old and i am trying to buy my first home. I keep hearing about the housing market in the news but i don't understand much of the terminology. Is it a good time or a bad time to take out a mortgage?

When a person annual income is 20k or so and he is qualified to buy a $500 home! I don't see that person suffering back then when he made the purchase. Its all about greed and America and its money making machine that went south. I don't feel sorry for any of these people since they know what they were getting into.

I recenlty got married and am in the process of changing my name. I bought a house with my fiance prior to getting married. The deed is in my maiden name and his name. The mortgage is in only my name and I just changed it to my new married name. That leaves the deed. Do I need to change the deed to reflect my married name since the mortgage is now in my married name?

My husband & I moved to Virginia less than a year ago to a small apartment. We are looking to buy our first home when our lease was up but were told by some friends that if you relocate to Virginia & find a home to purchase within your first year you can get out of your rental agreement.
Is this true & if so what are the requirements other than purchasing in the first year?

Any help is appreciated.

I'm working with a mortgage broker, he states the 100% financing must include a seller's concession and if the seller does not agree on it, we must come out of pocket for the closing cost. Is this true?????

What's included in the 100% financing. What are the guidelines? Is the closing cost included?

Thanks for your assistance.

I am interested in a home that is in a great neighborhood but needs some major updating and renovations such as new roof, new heating and air and new windows, in addition, some of the copper plumbing has been stolen in the basement, wow, sounds like a lot, but the house could be a great investment with about 25-30 thousand put into it. The problem Im facing is that it is bank owned. I have been approved for mortgage that of 100 thou, the asking price of the house is 89,900. First questions is according to what I previously mentioned that needs renovated what would you offer, and secondly and most importantly, what is the best way to get a rehab loan in order to do the work. Thank you so much

My brother bought a house with his now ex wife. They divorced and at the same time his adjustable rate mortgage increased his payments. He tried selling his house, but he'd taken out a personal loan for some home improvements. Because the sale wouldn't cover the loan, they wouldn't let him sell.
My brother has since moved 3 hours away and has basically been letting his house be in default.
Do you think this is a feasible solution - my brother makes an arrangement with the lenders to take care of the arrears, either by entending the term of his loan or paying more money on his mortgage every month. We find someone to rent his house. If there's any deficiency between his mortgage payment and the rent, I'll pay that so his mortgage is paid on time every month.
I don't want his credit to be ruined. Do you see any down falls? I can afford his mortgage payment with no tennant on top of my own, so that's not an issue if the place didn't rent out very quickly.

I want to sell a 1982 Mobile home. It's a 12 x 68. It's basically completely gutted out. Nothing left in there. It pretty much needs to be completely redone on the inside, but the structure is still good. Outside just needs to be pressure washed. What could I sell it for or is there a website where I can get a general idea of what it's worth?

My grandparents purchased a property which has two mobile homes on it that are rented out. Both of the mobile homes were occupied at the time of purchase. One of the families that rent one of the mobile homes pays on time and keeps the property clean. The other, however never pays rent on time and keeps the property a mess. The lady has a job and also collects disability. I'm not sure how she can do both. But anyways, she says that she can not be evicted and can stay at the property for 3 months before she has to move, which makes no sense to me. The property is in the state of Tennessee. Everywhere that I have lived in Tennessee says that if you don't pay your rent, the landlord can give you an eviction notice and you have 30 days to vacate the property. Is she stating that she doesn't have to vacate for 3 months because she's on disability?

I have a friend who lives in northern NJ and his house was foreclosed in May. He wants to stay in the house for as long as he can because he is renting the house and does not have much money since he is in his early 70s and he has 2 daughters in college. They are all trying to save money so they can rent an apartment later on. But right now he is just worried about how much time he has left to live in the house and if there will be any penalties or money that he has to pay. Does anyone know? or what else he can do?

So, my fiance and I cant get out of our lease for another 3 months. But, we've already found a new apartment to live in, we are moving in 2 weeks. We are going to continue to pay the current landlord his rent, for the rest of the lease term. We dont want him to charge us for a whole bunch of other things, such as cleaning(which doesnt need to be done), advertising( which is expensive), etc. So, we are going to pretend like I left my fiance and he's living in the old apartment alone. We want to leave as little as possible behind in the old apartment. Is this idea ok as long as we keep the utilities on? Im just afraid that if we are up front with the landlord he's going to try to charge us for all kinds of things, as the lease says he can, and he's not the nicest guy.

I just found out our rental is being forclosed. We have been trying to contact our landlord to ask him what the deal is. We found out because a real estate agent approached us and asked if we were the owner. And thats when he gave us the full details. Should I continue paying rent? What are the CA laws on it. Can he evict us if we don't pay rent?
