It's near California. A lot of people who think California is too expensive, but don't want to relocate very far are ending up in Washington.

Every place is different. Where I am in FL, St. Johns county is doing fine but next door Flagler county is in bad shape. Depends on the growth that's happened recently. This area has been booming recently and the fad has slowed down. Maybe your area didn't have a huge growth rate like other places too.
