Re: Your prior tenants names
Miss or Mr XXXXX was a tenant of mine for XXXX years .
Their rent payments were on time and they took good care of the property .
They were clean and did not engage in loud parties or cause disruptions .
We did not have unusual damage to contend with when they moved .
I would recommend them as future tenants .
Sincerely
Ms XXXXX

Do they need a letter or can they call you. It's easier to talk to someone in case they have questions. Was the rent on time? Were there any damages, excessive complaints, etc.? A letter doesn't have to be long, 5 sentences and the first couple state who you are & the tenants in question.

This letter is to inform you that (such and such) resided at (such and such address). This tenant always paid rent on time, never bounced a check and never had any lease violations. I would recommend this person as a tenant as i would gladly re-rent to him/her. If you have any further questions you may contact me (blah blah) Hope this helps! Believe i know how much writers block can suck!!!
