I had a home inspection done, but it wasn't detected then because it was covered by carpeting. Do I have any rights to go back to the seller and ask for compensation to fix it, since it wasn't disclosed to me?

I am only aware that if the seller is using an agency then they have to give a certain percentage of the sale but how about the agent that helped sale it. What does he get?

My Uncle wants to give me 2- lots of land in AZ. He wants to sell the property to me but not require me to pay anything. From what I read, he could do a quit claim deed to transfer the property to me. Is there any reason he wouldn't want to do a quit claim deed? What are the tax implications for him and me?

Is there any way to get out of an apartment lease because I bought a house. Plus I have a baby on the way and the apartment is too small for my husband, myself, and the baby.

I heard as long as I give the landlord a certified letter with the closing date of the house and a 2 month notice that I can break the lease and only lose my security deposit, is this true??

Found a great house for $430,000. We have paid 5k earnest (cashed out), appraisal done, inspection done. We are in escrow. Only thing need to be signed is final sales contract. Seller has gotten cold feet, and thinks the home is worth more and does not want to sign. Do we have any recourse? We are in California.

Why not hardwood floors or laminated floors? Isn't it easier to clean and would look much nicer? What's your two cents in this?

I'm buying a house and the inspectors I hired cannot get under the house. They requested we trench out 18" by 2' so they could get under the house and take a look. there was nothing else wrong with the house, but some really minor things that counld have been or have been taken care of.

The current owner is a contractor and he can get under the house (thinner guy) and the cable/phone people never have a problem getting under there. He does not want to trench it out or hire someone to trench it.

I really do not think there is anything wrong under the house. Do you think I should hire another set of inspectors to finish the job or go with it as is?

I'm looking for a website that has a day by day listing of the average mortgage rate for that day. I fully understand that mortgage rates vary considerably based on a lot of factors including points and other things, but I'm more interested in overall trends.

I am interested in 30-year fixed rate mortgages only.

If someone can post a reply with a link to a day by day listing of the rates on each day, from a website OTHER than mortgage-x.com (I don't like the site), you'll get a best answer. Thanks!

I want to maintain my original home as a rental, and purchase a primary residence in the state where I now live. What type of home will this be considered for mortgage purposes?

I'm looking to buy a house that has a dry creek bed running through the back yard. In some places the home is less than 10 ft. away from the bank. The creek bed is dry unless it rains. In my area we have had almost record breaking rain falls and water neaver reached the house, so flooding is probably not a major issue. My main concern is erosion. In the state of Texas will a home inspector be able to tell me if this will pose a threat to the home?

On the new deed showing me as 35% owner, they put as a selling price of $1. Is this going to affect me with capital gains down the road? Should it say what i am purchasing it for? The correct amount? $$$
