I am only aware that if the seller is using an agency then they have to give a certain percentage of the sale but how about the agent that helped sale it. What does he get?

Nobody works for nothing. They split the commission. And always remember, no matter how friendly they are, it's a business to them.

In general the seller lists his property with the listing agent. In the contract signed allots a percentage of sales price to both the sellers agent and the buyers agent. Usually that percentage is split 50/50 but does not have to. In general the precentage the realtors will split is between 5-6% of sales price. Since it is an agreement, these numbers are a little flexible, but that is the standard.

Here in Florida, the seller is paying the Real Estate Commission for example 6%, this percentage will be split between the listing office and the selling office, in most cases 50/50.

Generally, the agent with whom you worked will have a commission split arrangement with the agent who listed the house for sale. Both end up getting paid.

yes the agent get a house , the job is called real estate agent .. about 2.5% is given depending on the location or country and level of the agent
