I live in an apartment in Bucks County PA, I don't really know all the laws around here, but we have been trying since the day we moved in to get things fixed. We have called NUMEROUS times and most of the time we never even got a call back, let alone a maintenance person. When we finally got one, he started the job... over a week ago... and never came back. The wall of our shower is rotting behind the tile, it is covered with a trash bag and we can't fill the tub to give our kids baths, and they tore apart our bathroom! Who can we go to so we can get them to fix this and other problems?

My wife and I were in the process of purchasing a home. Our mortgage was suddenly denied before the deadline. The seller's realtor has been communicating with us because our realtor is out of town. He gave me the paper I needed to recieve my deposit back. Two weeks after returning the signed paper and not recieveing a check or response, I called the seller's realtor to ask if he recieved the fax. His exact words were, "Yeah, I got it, but the seller is (angry), because they wanted to move quickly. I don't think you'll be getting it back".

Is this legal??

I have been having problems with my bf son for years. Last few times he was at the house he was horrible and I told my bf I didnt want the kid at the house indefinitly.Last night my BF had him stop by the house without asking me first. I am scared of this kid, I locked myself in the bedroom, and I am still a nervous wreck. He is 13 but is very big and strong for his age, and very unstable...cruelty to animals, violence, etc.He called when he was a minute up the road with his mother. He just walked in the door, no ringing the bell or anything. He hasnt done anything to me (yet) that would justify a restraining order, if I can even get one against a 13 year old, but I was thinking of sending a letter to my bf by certified mail telling him the kid is NOT welcome at the house(that I own) Before you call me selfish, remember that I am scared for my safety, or what he might do to the house, car, etc.I am sitting at work with my stomach in knots. The kid has shoved me more than once, I'm done

Hi all and thanks for your advice in advance....

I recently lost my job a couple of months ago and therefore had to claim benifits.

Due to housing benifits speed the rent was a couple of months late so i started getting phone calls everyday for about 20 minutes at a time. He tells me exactly what i should be doing i.e. go to the local M.P. write a letter to so and so and phone these people.

Also he has added interest on top of the arrers and now is saying i owe him nearly £1000.

I could understand if he phoned twice a month to ask me if i had heard anything but every day???

That can be right also he has served me with a notice to quit because of this even though i have a 2 yr old son and a heavly pregnant wife.

After every phone call both me and my wife get really stressed and argue.

The landlord never listens to what i have to say and just trys to order me to do something. Also as i met this guy at my local church i assumed he was a nice old man.......

I just moved into my apartment yesterday (4 beds) with two of my roommates, and we discovered that while 2 bedrooms were empty, 2 others looked like the previous owners still lived there. We complained to the management and are trying to get in touch with the regional supervisors. They told us not to touch any of their stuff in the mean time, so we can't use two of the bedrooms or the kitchen or even half of the living room. The previous tenants were supposed to move out the 31st of July.
I live in Louisiana. Is there any legal action I can pursue? When do I get to throw out and/or keep their stuff?
Also, the complex said it would clean the apartment in a letter it sent everyone, though I cannot find it in the lease. The apartment is, obviously, not cleaned. Is there anything I can do about this? We're trying to get a month's rent free; is this a good course to take?

Okay, I've done enough research to find that the John Beck Real Estate System is a scam. But, does anyone know of another program, website, book, etc. that has somewhat of the same concept that I can just do on my own. I don't have much money to start out with, but I really am interested in real estate. He said that he bought houses for low prices from people not paying their property tax. Then he buys the house, or property, for whatever was left in back taxes. I'd like to do something like that. Is it real?

I found a beautiful place but its a condo. The maintenance fees are fairly reasonable, only 160 monthly and the area is located. The only problem is that It has 1 bathroom which doesnt isnt so good for resale value and eventually my fiance and I want to have at least 2 dogs. I am wondering whether this is a good investment , so any opinions would be appreciated.

I just moved into a house, i am renting. There was a family that lived in the house prior to us moving in but rented out the basement to students. The landlord that bought the house turned the entire house into student housing.
Heres the deal
My lease started on the 6th of July. When i got to the house the landlord hadnt started cleaning anything. They had not even been to the house yet since the previous people left.
Is it right to ask the landlord to:
repaint my room
carpet clean or put in new carpets

I am just concerned because anything the previous tenants left behind I could be living in...

I dont come across as the most socail person and it takes me a long time to to adjust to people. I just don't know how i will be. But i need to move so i can study, its for my future.

This is a strange one, My wife and I put an offer in on this house and requested the seller pays the closing costs as we need to sell ours but didnt want to put a contingency on it. The seller accepted the offer without a counter which was strange as we went in real low expecting the counter. She went to our Real Estate Agents office within 2-3 hours of the offer to sign the papers etc which she did. Then the very next day at 6am she calls my Real estate agent and states she only just read the contract and didnt realise she was paying OUR closing costs and thought we were offering $2,500 off the asking and paying $7500 towards her closing costs? To make matters worse she is an active real estate agent and failed to disclose that she is the owner/listing agent. She now wants to pull out and offered a counter after the contract was signed by both parties? We have also given $2k deposit. Any advice what we should do from here? We have 30 days to closing.

I love the house, area and the huge yard. The plumbing needs re-piped, needs a new water heater, kitchen and bathroom need updated.. but most of all, it needs new carpet and a fresh coat of paint.

This is a bank owned home. The after repair home value would be appx 80k (comparable's). Should I get estimate's on all of the work that needs done and negotiate (including the cosmetic work)? Since it's a bank I don't know how negotiable they'll go.

Should I include the inspector's report with my offer?
