The home I purchased listed from a real estate company had the home listed as a 15 year old home. The home is actually a 45 year-old home, but I was not aware of the misrepresentation until after the purchase. Because the home is built on wooden beams, I fear the home's structure--which already has damage--may become unstable in a short period of time. What options do I have?

They have a broken lease fee but now they say he has to pay the remaining rent. Why should he pay the fee if he has to pay all the rent anyway? Can they double dip, charge him full rent, and rent to someone else? He has no assets so suing him will not get them anything. I am offering them some kind of settlement as they can easily re-rent the aprtment. I underatnd Texas supreme court says they have to try to rent his place and olny charge him rent while the apartment was vacant. He makes minimum wage and has no assets so suing him seems rather a waste of time.

I own a home currently 50/50 with my boyfriend. I want to move out and he will live there with a friend. The mortgage is far more than we could rent it for (5k a month rent probably for 2500).. how do I figure out what is fair for me to get paid?
How much should the friend pay? Thank you so much!!

Hi, I haven't bought it yet, but I'm sure we will. It would be our first place. Its a 2 br, 1 bth, mobile home, pretty old, about 20 years. But it would be our own, currently we rent with MY family members and I am sick of it!! Anyways, I've never done this before and I don't even know where to find a mover or what questions I should ask for moving. I would like to move b/c 1->the rent is cheaper in MD and 2-> I'm getting a court interpreter job and I need to reside in MD to get it. Soooo, any and all advice is greatly appreciated. I know some of you might say, yuck! trailer trash! but you can't complain too much for $2K, for your own living space that you can move at will.
Thanks to all :-)

I am renting a single family house with my roommate. About 2 months ago, my landlord called flipping out because our nosy neighbor told him that we have cars at our house all the time and that more than two of us were living in the house, which was totally false (my roommate and I both have b/fs that stay over alot, but do not live there, plus the lease says we are allowed to have guests as long as they do not stay over for 2 weeks in a row).
So, out of the blue, I get a call today from a bank saying they are going to schedule an appraiser to come and inspect the house.
I'm thinking 2 things -
(1) this is a bogus excuse to get someone into the house to see if the guys are living with us - which doesn't bother me except that he thinks I lied when I told him they weren't.
or
(2) He is selling or refinancing the house (however I know that there is no current mortgage on the house, he inherited it).

Should I be worried? Thoughts, suggestions

I'm trying to save up for downpayment for a house. I am hoping to be able to buy a house 6 months from now. I'm trying to save part of my paycheck for that but I was wondering, is there a better way than just keeping it in my savings account?
