My wife and I bought our house 2 years ago. It was listed at 1371 sq. ft. (also what the county has on record). Now we are trying to refinance to get out of our arm loan. Come to find out the house is only 1120 sq. ft. and appraises for far less than what we paid and still owe. (about $11,000 less).
There has to be something we can do.
Please help.

We want to move and our landlord just gave us a letter that he wrote as if the letter came from my husband and I, stating that we want him to deduct a certain amount of money from our security deposit as our share of the installation of new carpet. When we moved in the old carpet had a bad odor and was old. We asked him to change it before we moved in; he changed it a month after we moved in. Why are we liable to help him pay for something that is his responsibility? Moreover, we don't know how much he paid for the carpet, but he asked us for $600 then changed it to $300. Should we take him to court?

My roommate keeps pulling knives on me, & my landlord, nor the police believe my story because I have a mental illness. Should I sue for disability discrimination? The police told me that BY LAW, I don't have a right to file a police report because I'm mentally disabled. & they told me that the next time I dial 911 for her pulling knives on me, then I will be going to jail, & not her. She keeps lying her way out of things so smoothly. Tonight she pulled a knife on me & when the police came, she hid the knife, so the police said they couldn't do anything.

My landlord wants me evicted because she thinks I'm trying to sabotage my roommate, which is not true. Some people say she has no legal right to throw me out on the street cold turkey since I have a mental illness. Also the roommate has her TV too loud & a neighbor has his music too loud, enough that it gives me headaches & I can't hear my phone conversations, & they won't handle that. Should I pay my rent or keep my money & move?

a friend will not state i work for her so i can refinance because she says she will have to report taxes/benefits, ect on me which i believe is false. they just want to know i have a job. PERIOD. they never even ask salary or anything. just your job title and how long you have had the job. she says her "whole financial situation" comes under scrutiny which is NOT true i believe.... any mortgage people know the truth? I know its a common practice with a solid financial background, that people state income and are not working at all...... she said her LAWYER advised her on this and i think thats bull....

I'm in the process of buying a house and we agreed between counters that they would pay for section one termites and some other misc items, but the repairs would not exceed $8000 and be finished prior to close of escrow. They put this house up on the market in Sept and these reports are from then. So, we agreed that we would get our own inspections and they would repair per their findings. They agreed. We got the inspections done and the roof hasn't been replaced or repaired in over 20 years and termite damage was more excessive than their original inspection. We asked them to credit us for some of the roof repairs as well. They are now saying they will credit us for all repairs in the amount of $11000 and we buy the house as is. Does that mean it comes off the top dollar of the house? Why are they willing to credit rather than have the repairs done? I'm afraid I'm buying a money pit and don't know it yet.

We received a Ch. 7 discharge (excluding our current house) on 1-19-06. I recently accepted a job in a town 4 hours away and have been commuting "home" on the weekends while we are trying to sell the current residence.
My plan was to rent an apartment, family and all, until we get past the two year waiting period for mortgages.
I am starting to worry, though, that we won't be able to get a house in a year or two like I was planning, either due to being denied on the application or the rates being too high.
Is this something I should worry about? Is it much more difficult to get a mortgage 2 years after Ch. 7? I need to find out now in case I need to "undo" the situation and get another job in the original locale and take the house off of the market.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm in the process of applying for a mortgage. Along with the loan application I received a copy of my credit report, and I am curious as to what these different values mean. My Beacon score was 652. My FICO classic is 718. My Isaac Model score is +668.

Are these good? What's the difference between the 3 scores? Which do they base the loan on?

Thanks in advance!

My mom wants to buy a house but sign the house over to me once she's done. My credit isn't the greatest so me financing the home would have a sky high rate. Of course she wouldn't go in stating her purpose to the lender. Is this something that is possible. I wouldn't want it to remain in her name or better yet, on her credit report. I'm definitely capable of paying what needs to be paid. Recently divorced, so mom wants to help me and my children out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
