I reviewed my contract lease and the only time it says the landlord can enter my apartment is in an emergency situation like a fire. What are the laws regarding showing my apartment now to prospective renters for the August 2007 - August 2008 renting season? My concern is that I don't want my personal property to be stolen, moved, or damaged. Plus, I consider it an invasion of privacy.

This old man is 89 years old. No money, no pension. This man can't get a reverse mortgage because he took a home loan to pay medical bills many years ago. He is going to lose his house to foreclosure. He is still healthy, just really old. What kind of assistance can he get? He lives in Montclair, NJ.

What is it called when a private company owns and runs a building on land that's not their own? For example, Trump with Empire State Building. Anyone know the pros/cons to doing this? Also do you know where I can find proposals for such a thing. I've been challenged by the local mayor to come up with a tourism development plan for property 100 meters from beach. The property is 1.5hectacres or 3.5acres. I'm thinking a resort spa hotel with stores around. I need to start my research, figure on a project plan for all this <<< appreciate any input!!! Thanks-

Kawamoto, one of Japan's richest men, said he plans to open eight of his 22 Kahala homes to needy Hawaiian families. They will be able to stay in the homes rent free. He has been criticized for evicting tenants of his rental homes on short notice so he could sell the properties, as in 2002 when he gave hundreds of California tenants 30 days to leave. Two years later, he served eviction notices to tenants in 27 Oahu rental homes, mostly in pricey Hawaii Kai, saying they had to leave within a month. He said he wanted to sell the houses to take advantage of rising prices. He has said he tried to pick working, single mothers. Some neighbors are unhappy with Kawamoto's plan, speculating that he is trying to drive down real estate values so he can snap up even more homes. One man suggested that the Waianae Coast a heavily Hawaiian community on the other side of Oahu that has been hit hard by homelessness, would have been a better place to carry out his charity work.
I smell a land grab.

Right now I am part owner on my grandma's house with her and there is no equity. Neither of us can afford to keep making the morgage payments. If she qualifies for Section 8 assistance would I be able to buy her out compeletly and let her rent the home with Section 8 assistance?

Working in real estate you think I'd know this already...

Is there a website where you can ESTIMATE what amount you'd be pre-qualified for, for a mortgage?

This all to avoid an acutal credit check.

Thanks!

I am moving in with my fiancee in May, I used to be in the property management industry, but that was awhile ago, and I just submitted my application without my SSN and with express instructions they are NOT authorized to run my credit nor have my SSN.

She is the owner of the condo, in Florida (in case that matters), and they do not allow renters, unless they are family members. Once we get married, they can't prevent me from moving in anyway. I am not rushing my wedding and marriage along for them, though.

I got this idea when I was in property management, a guy refused to allow us to run his credit nor get his SSN because the news did an expose on how lax people are with protecting SSNs once they go out of business, they just toss the crap in the trash, wonderful Op Sec!

Anyway, with Bank of America giving out credit cards to illegals or at least people without SSNs, I am making my stand. Question is, can they deny my application?

Ok we just bought our house, like JUST.. has barely been over a month. My husand was leaning against the wall in the kitchen yesterday and the freaking wall flexed in. Someone at sometime had done a repair and slapped a new piece of drywall up, but never attached it to the studs in the middle, so when you push on it, it flexes in and out. (nice huh?) Anyways, of course we had the house inspected b4 we purchased it, but obviously going around and pushing on every wall is not a regular part of an inspection. We do have a home warranty for a year, but from what I am reading it only covers appliances, heating, a/c, plumbing and the roof. Anyways just curious if anyone knows a way we would be covered to have this fixed or are we just going to have to pay for this? Any suggestions about what to do would be fabulous. We are first time home-buyers and unfortunately a tad clueless about how this works.

Out of all of the "creative" lending products, this one seems to make the most sense for someone looking to upgrade in the buyers market.

Just honest opinions, perferably from people that have taken out these kind of loans . No spammer answers! I am not interested in buying anything from you.

Thanks

The gas company sent me a letter stating they had not been charging me enough. I have not turned my thermostat up all winter b/c my apartment is on the top floor of a small apartment building and was always hot. The gas company stated that the furnace was probably broken but would not send anybody out stating it was the landlords fault. I have tried several times to get my landlord to call me back but he won't. Instead someone came and turned off the furnace completely now I have no heat at all except for hot water. The gas bill went from 200 dollars to 1700 dollars. Is the landlord responsible?

We have a morgage with about £23,000 left to pay, our house is worth £135,000. We want to move to a house that costs about £165,000.
We will be renting our house out for £450pcm, is it cheaper to clear our mortgage then take out a 100% mortgage for the new house or re-mortgage and take out a smaller mortgage plus a bit extra for improvements?

I had an interest only loan that has now come due. Payment went up 500 a month. I was told I qualified for an FHA 30 yr fixed. I have completed all the "leg" work and have been repeatedly told I qualify that an FHA takes a little longer to close. It has been almost two months.....now I am not getting my calls returned.
Thanks,
Rebecca
