We completely gutted, rewired, etc, etc, the whole entire house is renovated from the ground up. It cost us quite a bit... but once we started we had to finish!
All windows are Anderson.
Vinyl siding.
3 nice size bedrooms, Master bath off one, and another bedroom upstairs has it's own private deck.
3 full size bathrooms.
A large sunroom.
small basement, unfinished.
One garage, not refinished, and not attached.
This house we remoled to sell, so it's ready to go....
it is in a small town, but near a larger City.
It's a cozy large home, with character.
capet, wood floors, and Italian tiles throughout.
What price would you put on it for sale?

I'm doing research to find out which are some of the best cities in the NE for real estate investing. But I thought I'd come here for real accounts from people that live in these places. What do you consider to be a great city? I'm particularly interested in places that aren't too small, that are clean, low crime, good rental markets, etc...the usual. Thanks. Oh, and I live in NYC so I'm hoping to find good cities that are no more than 4 hours away on a train. :)

I'm looking for the current, popular meanings of the words as they are used in North America, Great Britain, and in the Repuplic of Ireland. In architecture and in realestate there seems to be some distinction. For examples: an architecural photographer has two seperate books; 500 Cottages , and 500 Bungalows; and IOL realestate has "cottages" and "bungalows" under seperate listings. What is a modest one family home... a cottage, a bungalow or something different ....???

Say the landlord has know for at least 2 years that your neihbors are extremly filthy and have now infested your apartment with bugs like roaches, fleas, and specifically bed bugs. Shouldn't they ethically and out of good consience compensate you for the pain and inconvience of their tenants? Possibly by reducing the rent for a few months until the problems have been fixed and/or the people are evicted.

I'm a first time homebuyer and I am ready to make an offer on a home. The sellers have it up FSBO, and I am not going to use an agent. How do I make the offer? Verbally? Write up an offer letter and bring it with me when I look at the property again? Over the phone after I look at the property again? I have a library book that helps me out with writing up contracts that occur after this phase...but am clueless as to how to make my initial offer!

We live in a ground floor masionett and the guttering needs to be repaired. In our deeds it states that it is a joint responsibility with the owner of the upstairs flat. I have contacted them but they have not responded. What can I do next? Is there a legal route if it gets to that stage?

I'm looking for an apt in Sunnyside or Woodside in Queens. But am having a hard time finding listings. Craigslist only has a ton of brokers with fake ads that don't actually list apts but have their logo on the page. Their listings aren't what they used to be. It seems there aren't a lot of listings online that I can look at. The few agencies with apts in that are list maybe 1 or 2 apts. Can anyone recommend a website where I can find Queens apt listings?

I have a question for lenders. I keep reading about all of the issues with subprime lending and foreclosures. I hear that it will be harder to get a mortgage and interest rates will be higher for those without perfect credit.

What qualifies as a subprime loan? What if your credit shaky but you have paid a mortgage on time, never more than 30 days late for like 4 or 5 years.? Would it be hard to get another mortgage? We are thinking of selling and repurchasing a home somewhere else but I don't want to get stuck with some crazy interest rate or put our life savings down.

Any suggestions?

Okay. So my husband and I want to buy a home, this will be our first home.
Now I am going to need a home with acreage, the more the better, as I'm going to start a small equestrian facitily with a sport pony breeding program. Our income is a little crazy as my husband owns his own business and the income fluctuates. One month we can make 7k the next only 2k.
I have 2 children and I don't work, until we move I can't start making money.
I live in Lafayette, Louisiana and land is usually 10k per acre. I've found some really nice homes big enough for us with enough land, but the prices have been 250k and up-wards.
We have tried to get approved before for a 240k home but they wouldn't allow us since I wasn't working and didn't have any income. My credit is also OK. In the mid 600's. My husbands is a little better. So anyway is there a way that I can get approved if the house we are going to move into is also going to be my business? Any information will help and thanks :)
