I have a flat in a house shared with 3 others, and our leases are all 83 years. We are thinking about buying the freehold. What are the pros and cons?

Yes buy your freehold. Your house will be worth more if it is freehold. You will not have to pay ground rent every year and you will be able to do things you want without asking leaseholders permission. I bought mine and it only cost about £1,500. Good luck but do it.
