I would like to find out the form that needs to filled out to add a spouse to the house. I'm confused because the Quit Claim Deed looks like one person gives up their rights. Thanks for any feedback that you can give.

Where I am it is called a General Warranty Deed. You would convey your interest (100%) to a joint interest (you at 50% and your spouse at 50%) and file it at the courthouse.

To add a person to your deed you fill out the deed with yourself, as seller, and yourself AND the other person, as buyers.

Since you're not sure how to do this yourself it would be a good idea to have it handled by an attorney or title agency. They will make sure that your intentions are carried out properly and they will also take care of recording the deed. It shouldn't be expensive.
