if i refinance now , at a lower interest rate, on a fixed rate mortgage, .......would it be wise to pay the prepayment penalty versus the interest i would be paying for the next year? the way i figure it, i paid $8,000 in interest in 2006. my penalty for early pay off would be about $4,000, and they would roll it in to the loan.

Ok, i am taking a new job out of state in two months and have to start a new job so i am selling my townhome. I sat down with a realitor today and he told me the comps are 185k, now i owe 205k. well a year and a half ago i took out a HELOC for 70k, they said the home was valued at 220k and i took there word for it! I used the money to pay off medical bills, student loans and cc debt. They used a AMV? not a actual appraiser to come up with that market value. I told my relitor about this and he looked up actuall comps at that time and found that they were 183k at the highest at that time. He told me i would have a good case?/any suggestions or heard of this?

I'm living in PA, USA. The landlord advertise the place as a three br apartment with one of the room converted from a sun room to a bedroom. I thought she fixed it so it can deal with the cold weather, but my room is freezing cold even if I turn up the thermostat up to about 70 degrees and I have a small space heater going on at the same time. I've placed up plastic and fleece on the windows to keep air from coming but it's not helping. I can't sleep in my room because it's almost the same temperature outside and my apartment is freezing, air is leaking and I'm spending money to keep my room AND the apartment warm. My landlord doesn't understand this and just say it's the cold spell that is going on but it's even when it's in the 30s and 40s I can't warm up the room. So, I end up sleeping on the couch dealing with back problems. What should I do?

I just bought my first home and its a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 level home, 1700 sq ft. I was wondering how much should I expect to pay to decorate it and make it look nice. Just a rough estimate. I only am buying new funriture for the living room and dining room. I am also going to buy new kitchen accessories and bathroom accessories. Just a rough estimate. Think back to when you bought your home about how much did you spend?

I'm 19 years old and just started working part time for 9 dolloars an hour. This is a 2 room and one bathroom house for sale for $130,000 and I figure that's a okay deal. Anyways, I don't know if this is a good deal but please give me some advice. Maybe I shouldn't buy a house yet. ETC...

What is the best loan for my situation. Maybe a 40 year plan or something?!?! O and when I do buy the house, what are some things a new home buyer should be aware of, the extra bills.

I just learned from my realtor that "there is no MLS" in my area. Therefore, my home is not listed in the MLS. Is that possible???
I was under the impression it was a nation-wide thing available to all realtors. Can someone please explain and/or help??? We're just having one problem after another with them. And now this too??!!!
I'm just dumb-founded. Please help =(

I am trying to decide if I am ready to move out or not. I am 20, done with a year of college, and I think its time I move out. I want my freedom!

I have been working on a budget and here is what I came up with..

I get about 1200-1300 a month, but 1200 is the absolute lowest I ever make.

Rent - 629 (Includes all utilities but water)
Water - 15 ( Flat Rate )
Car Insurance - 100
Gas - ~80-90/Month (might be less since I am moving closer to work)
Cell Phone - 70

That leaves me with $306ish for food and whatever else. Alot of my friends said they spend on average 100-200 a month. I am a college guy, I dont mind store brand food, food is food.

I have all the frunature I need and about 1k saved up after the $310 deposit. ( I have 1350 right now)

Do you guys think I am ready to move out, or should I save up a little more money?

Any other tips or suggestions?

I am thinking of moving out out of my moms house and I am working out my budget.. so far this is what I have...

That leaves me with $306 - I am considering getting High Speed Internet and Digital Cable, but that would only leave me with about 210. Is 210 enough for food and stuff (Tp, Toothpase, Deoderant, ect) or should I skip the interet and cable? I can live with dial up if I have too, I used to have it before, and its like what $10 a month? I might just fork out the $30 a month for internet instead, that way I can download TV shows and put them on DVD's?

What do you guys think? 306 a month enough for food and stuff?

I've been reading up on investing in foreclosures and have a question to ask.

A home owner's house is worth $110k, about to foreclose has a first and second mortgage, for simplicity lets say $80k and $20k respectively. If first bank has to foreclose on the house and sells it at auction(owning only 80%), and someone buys it for $80k, what happens to the second loan?

Will the second bank holding the 20% equity loan lose the $20k?
