Im a veteran. My employment historyI was on active duty military for 1/2 of 2004 & all of 2005. Most of 2006 I didnt work & collected unemployment.

I work now and my monthly income is about $1000 from my job of 3 months, $200 from national guard drill pay, and dont know if this is income, but I get the GI bill 8 months of the year for college which is about $840. My fiance who Id be buying with makes about $8-900 monthly.

Cant afford much of a downpayment right now. Monthly I think we can pay about MAX $800. This would include any insurance or other fees related to the house not including utilities, electricity, etc... anything I dont already pay renting (dont have renters insurance). If anyone knows, what all per month you pay to buy a house besides mortgage payment?
I've seen some decent ones in my area I would like around 120k+. If I can get approved for a loan for 800- per month, how much? I figured I could get some high interest loan and refinance later, am I wrong? TY

My wife (a real estate broker) has worked on a deal very hard and she lost it today. She is in very dipressed mood. I don't know if words like "...you can make other deals next time..." going to make her feel better or worse. For anyone out there who had similar experience as my wife had, can you tell me what words would make you feel better when that happened?

I live in Las Vegas, NV and I live in the basement of a house with a separate entrance. The house belongs to my landlord, and we don't have a written contract or anything, but I do pay rent every month.

if it matters, it's not officially an apartment. he calls it "shared living." when I moved in, he said he would give me 30 day notice if he wanted me out.

legally though, and if I continued paying for the time that I am here, how long until I have to move out in nevada? sources are a plus. also, can he change the locks and not let me in and keep my stuff?

I want to buy a home when my lease is up in August because I hate throwing my money away on rent. However, I always wanted to wait until I'm married to get my first house... I'm a little bit intimidated to go in on a mortgage by myself, because I feel so ignorant of the whole process (that and everything here is so expensive!).

Basically my question:

Should I rent for one more year (my boyfriend and I have been together for 2 1/2 years, so we'll either be getting married within that year or I'll be moving on), or should I just fight my fears and purchase now?

I need opinions here. I decided it's time to move out of my parents' house and I JUST started looking at apartments. All of my friends are married or already have living situations that they are comfortable with so I was really racking my brain for a roommate. My friend just called and said that her friend owns a house in the city where I want to live and has mentioned on and off that she'd like to rent out the extra bedroom to someone. She is going to ask her about it, but my question is, is this weird or awkward? I don't know this person and I'm pretty shy (it sounds like the house owner is pretty shy also). She already owns this house and has everything in it that she likes. I feel like I'm just using the space and her stuff -moving in on her territory. My mom is very overbearing now and I just need out. But I don't know if this is what I was going for. Maybe I just want my own apt, but I'm not sure if I can afford it. What do you think? How would you feel? Independent? Invasive?

If you have signed a lease for a year with the apartment for a year, but then suppose midway through the lease (say 6-7 months since you move in), you are trying to sublease the apartment because you are moving out of state for a new job. You try hard, but are unable to find a person to take over your lease. You still have about a week before you move out of the state for your new job, but still haven't found a person to sublease your apt. What would you do in this case?

I am a male in the process of applying for the U.S citizenship. There is an option to change the name in the citizenship application and I plan to use this to change my name.
Once it is approved, I understand that the court will grant me the required legal papers with the new name.

The question is, what is the procedure to change my name in the title of my house and tile of my car?

I am in PA. I have already passed the real estate course I am preparing to go and take the test. I am not financially able to jump into this and quit my current job. I need the health benefits also for my daughter. Several agents have told me that I should not even bother because you can't make any money "part time". I won't consider it "part time" work. I consider this to be another full time job. My current job is 8 to 5. Isn't it true that the people buying and selling propery work also? I realize that this will be tough, but is it possible?

When my grandmother died she left over 7 acres of land to be split up between my father and his 5 brothers and 1 sister. When my father died last year, his share of my grandmother's estate was left to me, my mother, and my sister. My uncle wants us to sign over our share of the estate to him and his reason is because he has spent a lot of money to keep up the estate and paid taxes on it etc. (he's a millionaire mind you). All I asked is for him to buy me out of my share and we can negotiate so he can make me an offer for my share. This seemed like a reasonable proposal from me being that he's a savvy businessman and I am still a struggling student with school loan debts and a family to take care of. He flat out refused, insulted me and my deceased father, and told me that he could take my portion of the land without my consent if he wanted to. He's trying to intimidate me with big time lawyers and strong arm me into giving up my share. Does he have a case? Can he sue me? Am I right?

I am renting an apartment for the last 6 years and always payed on time. The last 3 years I payed, direct from the bank, "month to month" because my job was unstable and I wanted to relocate quickly if I lost the job.
Well, I lost the job and I am ready to relocate. My landlord informed me (not in writing) that I can't move out before June 2007. He have me on a 12 month lease and I owe him 8 month back rent because the rent had increased.
This is the first time I am hearing of a rent increase and they want me to sign a new 12 month lease or I will have to pay more back rent. Can they do this? Please HELP!

From June 1st, any house being put on the UK market for sale will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) as part of a home information pack for potential buyers. This will show how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G (similar to that on fridges etc). It will also show it’s CO2 output rating.

Recommendations will also be made as to how to improve the energy efficiency, reduce energy use, reduce CO2 output and reduce fuel costs.

There will be a cost to the homeowner to have an EPC done but that will be counterbalanced by energy savings and a reduction in global warming.

Your views please – good or bad?
