I have seen a lot of these questions on yahoo answers and I just wanted to pass on the news that I have a credit score of 565 and I have an eviction on my credit that is not paid off (almost is) and I got approved for an apartment with a low deposit. This is not really a question I just wanted to let people know that you can still fina a place to live with bad credit!

I hear alot about this also. But the honest truth is that if you can prove you money to put down, or a steady income you will be ok 9 times out 10. And that you can down an innitial deposit. If you show a landlord that you can come up with 2 months rent plus security deposit, in most cases you are in. Outside of that as long as you have decent steady income you are also ok. Credit is not as important as people think when renting. Credit comes more into play with mortgages and car loans.

I know people who have had horrid credit and gotten into places with ease just because they had a job or had money up front.

No big deal there, I've gone most of my life with "bad credit" and I was never turned down for an apartment or anything else. It's just a way they want to narrow the applicants for those apartments.

Yep, it all depends on the landlord. I decided to give a tenant a chance even though she had filed for bankruptcy years ago. I just told her that she looks like she's doing fine and paying her bills on time for the past 3 years, so why not....I've gotten her rent on time every month so far.

True ! Not only your credit score is important, but the way you introduce yourself is, too.
