I'm looking to just get a few quotes to get my monthly mortgage payment down, but I know the minute I give out my phone number and email adress I'll be swamped by companies contacting me. I just want to get an online quote of what a new mortgage payment would be if I refinanced, without having to give out personal information. Anyone know of a company?

We will be moving in the next year, and I've never moved out of state like this. I'm very nervous about how I will go about doing this. I'm going to need to find employment (doing the same thing I do now) find a place to live, and sell our house here. What if they want me to start the job and I haven't even found somewhere to live yet? What if my house doesn't sell right away. Which order should I do all of this? I don't want to move there without having a set/secure job. AHHH...Help!!!

I'm currently saving up 50 000 pounds deposit for my first property that I want to buy in October this year...

but I'm just wondering if it's still a good idea to buy in London right now...or will there really be a market crash this year?

My other chose is to buy a property back home in South Africa. With 50 000 pounds in SA, I could buy a 3 bedroom apartment in cash...

What do you think?

Superstitions can't hurt, but might help, my effort. It's only been on the market a week, and he place is beautifully staged, very clean, and shows well, but I still feel like I need the extra oomph. I'm impatient and ready for it to sell...

Per others' advice, I've buried an upside-down statue of St. Joseph in the backyard. (Even though I'm not Catholic!) And I keep yellow flowers in a vase near the front door. My Realtor told me NOT to bake cookies or bread, as people now take that as a sign that you are trying to play them or hide another nasty smell. But I cut a fresh lemon and leave it on a cutting board before every showing.

Anyone have anymore of these superstitions that help/hurt a home sale? Please share!!

I have been told by the council that as a lone parent currently out of work, I can find my own landlord to rent from. Can this be a family member?

We're moving out of our current property in just over a month's time. We're due our landlord 1 more months rent but we've just found out he is not registered (landlord's register, Scotland). Does this mean he has no legal right to ask us for rent, and we have no legal obligation to give him any? What about rent we have already paid him?

I rush out of meetings and other places to get to my appointments on time, only to find that the persons who've said they wanted to see the apartments haven't shown up--and never do! My time is valuable, too! Is there anything I can do (besides make reminder calls) to these people?

A relative in Ohio missed a few payments on her house and narrowly missed a forced foreclosure auction.

I'd like to bail her out somewhat by taking over her mortgage from the existing mortgage company. She would then be making payments to me instead of them, and I'd be a LOT more willing to forgive a missed payment or three. (Also her payments would be a lot less, even if I charged, say, 4% or 5% on the balance -- and no, I'm NOT trying to get rich off her or gouge her!)

It really sounds to me like a refinance process, where she would be refinancing her home, but through me instead of a traditional lender. (I have enough cash to pay off her existing mortgage and separate lien.)

But I don't know how to get the process started, or what kinds of paperwork I'd need to provide.

Anybody else go through this before? Or be able to tell me who to talk to, or where to go? (Be nice, now ...)
