The homes are so overpriced for what is being sold. My husband and I would love to buy a home, but it is so expensive. For example: A two bedroom one bathroom home in a decent neigborhood goes for almost $400K. If were to go to a not so decent area the price of a similar house would be around $350K.

We are living in an apartment which is costing us $1600 per month (two bedroom in apt complex) and do not want to take out a hugh mortage to buy an overpriced home. We see our friends and family members suffering from buying homes with little money down and can not even make payments because the taxes are going up like crazy. What is going on? Why is this? Is Long Island turning into Beverly Hills, CA? Does anyone think the home prices will drop anytime soon? I keep hearing that homes are going to go down in price, so that is why my husband and I are holding off on taking out a hugh mortage to buy a home.

There is a HELOC on the home for $150k. Each undeveloped parcel is worth $75k. The appraisal shows the whole piece (undivided) to be worth $201k total. The home being worth $192k and the land worth $9k undivided. I asked why the land is so cheap and the appraiser said "they do not base values on future speculation". So my question is this: Can I survey and split the parcel into 3 tax lots even with a HELOC attached?

I am trying to buy a home, very complicated situation, have debts that aren't mine, I would like to do an 80% (All I have to pay for the home is approx 75% of the appraised value) no doc loan, then after I close, take out a equity loan or HELOC for the remaining equity in the home to pay off my current home and debt , is this possible??? Thanks!

I live in a house owned by my mother and we mutually agree that I should take over ownership of the house as I've been paying all expenses associated with it, mortgage, insurance, repairs etc... The mortgage is in her name solely and so is the deed. Any ideas on the easiest way for me to take ownership?

Can you explain the process of shorting on a foreclosure? How do the negotiations work with the lien holders? What would be a normal offer for a foreclosure property (as a percent of retail value)? Thanks, first best answer gets my ten points.

I have recently separated from my hubby after being together 10 years and for the past 8 years we have been paying off our own home. I had a great rental history when I did rent but after 8 years I didn’t keep receipts and real estates don’t keep old records of tenants, even some of the real estates I rented with when younger are not even ar4ound today.....Now that I am trying to rent again its so hard I get “no sorry” you didn’t get the place
Is this because I am a single mum or what?? They keep saying oh its harder with no rent receipts.. Doesn’t owing your own home for 8 years count?

I'd like for find more info about relocating to this area. I'll probably be leaving AZ around May or so. I'm hoping to find a community with a low housing cost. I looked on ok.gov for some relocation info, but no luck. I've had a little bit of luck through the AR site.

My husband and I would like to close on a home by June. We are stuck in a leased apartment that doesn't expire till July 1st. Should we start the home buying process now? Can we request that the closing date not be until the beginning of June? As a note we have excellent credit and available savings for 10-20% down payment. Thanks
