When I went in to sign the papers to make an official bid on a home my realtor is charging me $350 if the sell of the house goes through on top of her 6% commission. Is this common practice for realtors? She said it's her fee and most realtors charge a fee to buyers for their services. I can't find anything on the internet that verifys this.

I'll need a new job, since I will be moving an hour north, closer to friends and GF.

I know of a room for rent that is very affordable.

But regardless, I can't afford it outright. Is it wrong to ask my family for a loan to become self-sufficient?

Any emotional and mental tips on making this transition?

I am trying to buy a house, but I am unclear of what will be the benefits of buying a single family house, or buy a two family house. Also, if I buy a 2-family house, when and how can I buy a single family house, keeping the 2-famiy house.

I live in a SFH in Prince George's County in Maryland. The house has been sold and the landlord asked me on 12/31 to be out by 1/5. After discussions with other tenants, I have learned that this is illegal especially since I have a month-to-month written lease with the landlord. I really don't want to go to court but how do I make sure I am protected. I gave the landlord my 30 day notice effective 1/1 b/c I planned to move anyway but I haven't found a place yet! We agreed that the landlord would pro-rate me for January rent and return my security deposit but am I entitled to anything more? I'm thinking at least my December rent since I wasn't given proper notice. Please help and let me know which laws I should be consulting. Thanks!

Can you buy a house that is listed in a bankruptcy proceeding before it goes to auction? I heard that you can petition the court. Is this true? How does this work?

I have two options that I qualify for and was curious if anyone knew anything about either of them.

The first option being the HomeChoice Program which offers a lower interest rate for 1st time homebuyers with a disability.

The other would be a 40 year fixed loan with down payment assistance up to 3% of the purchase price.

If you have any experience with either of these, I would appreciate any knowledge you have to share. Thanks!
