Sorry to hear of your dilemma. You can choose your friends but you can't choose your neighbours. There's nothing worse than inconsiderate people. Hope it works out for you.

Report them to the env health dept at your local town hall. Then keep a record with times and dates and duration of the noise for a month then give to the Env Health officer. Or you could call on them and ask if they could stop slamming doors as the noise transmits through to your house. Offer to give them a demonstration by slamming your doors so that they can feel and hear what it is doing. It could be that they do not realise the problem.
My neighbour was noisy with his radio and TV late at night. I asked him politely to moderate the sound and he took no notice. I went away for a weekend and left two radios on continuously each on a different continuous music station at 60 watts output. He was on my doorstep as soon as I returned and complained bitterly. I told him that it would happen more often if he didn't act as a reasonable person. It stopped his antics straight away.

get onto their landlord about it
say they have alot of late night parties and your sure they have been doing drugs in that house.

if you live in a quiet area then the landlord wont want the hear stuff like that is happening unless he really doesnt give a **** about the property.

first check with your town to see what laws cover your situation such as disturbing the peace, sound ordinances, or nuisance laws. also some states allow you to take civil and somtimes criminal action against landlords themselves for failing to regulate their properties. what ever course you choose don't put yourself in a confrontational situation with your neighbor. thats what police and the courts are for. good luck.
