my question is do I have any entitlement to this house as my name is not on the title. Though this house has had a major turn around since I moved in.
Before I lived here his mom lived in it and it was a total pigstye, i mean dog crap, cat crap on the floor, piss in the rugs, flies, dirt even black mold.
You name it, I have pictures to prove what this house looked like before I moved in it.
Now it looks like a million bucks compared to what is was before. I believe I have been the motivating factor in getting him to make his house 100x better, but he tells me this is not my house in a fight but when we are getting along he says its "our" house.
My only proof of living here for the last 3 years is the taxes( I filed with him) and the phone bill which is in my name and any mail I get sent here.
I have also been the only person to help (not even his friends) with the renovation. we are breaking up and I dont want to walk away broke as I helped him turnthishousearoundforthelast3 y

Me and my husband have been renting for about 4 years. With house prices that have risen so high it seems almost impossible for us ever to be able to buy a home! My husband and I make "okay" money, but not enough to put a down of 10% on $700,000 (average home for 3 or 4 bedroom in our area). I've heard of "no money down" home loans, but what exactly does that mean? How screwed would we actually be??

I have been living in my 1st floor apartment for over a year now, and have been having problems with the tenants above me the entire time. They have a balcony which hangs over my patio. They have a ridiculous amount of plants also hanging over my patio, and every time they water their plants, all the excess drips into my patio.I am not exaggerating when I say there has been gallons at a time. This has prevented me from having any sort of furniture or BBQ or anything out there. In addition, especially now in Winter, all their dead plant leaves drop into my yard. I have complained to them, the manager, written a letter to the owner (who lives in NY,I am in CA), but the problems persist.I am struggling SO hard not to flip out, but the manager claims she talked to them.Just today i had to yell up there because he was straight pulling dead leaves off and dropping them into my patio! What can I do without breaking the law!Can I call the police,or report these owner's/landlord for negligence?

Six years ago we got a cat and paid a $400 pet deposit to our apartment complex. We also have to pay $25 a month. When we re-signed our lease last year, our rent went up $50. We paid this increase for 8 months before the office realized they didn't include the pets monthly payment in the new amount. Due to this, they made us sign another lease to show that we had a pet and was paying that amount. Over the weekend we got a letter from them stating that our rent payment was $100 short. When my husband called the office to find out what they were talking about, the guy said the pet deposit went up $100. #1 we were not told this when we re-signed the lease, #2 I didn't see this stated in the contract and #3 can they make us pay an additional deposit 6 years later?!?!?!

I feel like they rip us off every chance they get. They didn't make us pay the back pay for 8 months due to it being their error, I think they are making up for it with this supposedly new increase!

I've heard the 10% figure tossed around quite a bit. I'm realistically looking at something in the $150,000-$200,000 range, probably in Florida. Is 10% pretty much standard or does it vary? I have good credit by the way.

I have always been interested in real estate. I'm 25 and I am really considereing making my first move on an investment property. I think a condo would be a nice way to start.

I realize condos don't offer as much potential for profit as a house but they are for the most part cheaper and seem like a reliable stream of income if you can rent one out. I am interested in Orlando, Miami, and Las Vegas as potential areas.

I would prefer that people experienced in real estate answer this. Preferably someone experienced in condos. Thank You.

I am tenents in common with a "friend" on a house. (50/50)(Calif) We are renting out this property. My "friend" has decided he wants to move into the house. Can he give the current renters a 30 day notice without my permission? I do not want him to move into the house, and would rather keep the renters. My name is on the month to month lease agreement with the renters, we own this house 50/50 together as Tenents in Common. I have given a counter to the evition notice that he has served the renters, and stated that he can not give notice without my written consent. Am I correct in this? Any advise on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Me and my husband both work, but with all our bills, child support and health insurance, we don't make enough money to rent an appartment. So we live with my mother-in-law, in her house that is already paid off. The house belongs to her (her husband passed away 2 years ago), but her husband was very sick so they signed the house over to the health insurance to get their medical bills covered. On the house are the names of five people, my husbands and his sisters and their parents. The parents are allowed to stay in the house till they die, but I was wondering if anything would happen to my mother-in-law, would we get kicked out on the streets, or will we be allowed to stay in the house because my husbands name is on the house too?

I rented my house to a man 8 years ago.He hasn't paid council tax since moving in and has run up thousands of pounds of rent arrears in the 8 years. He has now disappeared and local council have now made me liable for the tax. They have told me I should appeal to the Valuation Tribunal via them. I am panicking as I cannot pay the very substatial sum being demanded and I don't want bailiffs calling.Legal Aid is not available in these cases and solicitors fees are outside my finances. The council have made numerous fully documented errors but will not act to rectify their mistakes.Any sensible suggestions regarding UK internet sites for advice/guidance would be appreciated.Anybody had similar experiences?
