i am 20 years old and i still stay with my mom, i have 300 in the bank. im debating should i get car rims or use it as deposit to get my own place? what do you guys thinks? which is the need and which is the want?

Deposit, definitely. You're still young. I would save money a few years more and build up a nice little nest egg. You don't want to move out and live paycheck to paycheck, do you? I stayed at home kind of late (23-24?) and I managed to save up about 10k and purchased a condo. I'm definitely glad I did.

Forget the rims. They are not that important. Pay your mom rent and save some to get your own place in a few years. Now that you are an adult you need to think about the future and not spending money on frivolous items.

stay home for a few more years, save money, if 300 is all you have saved, it doesnt sound like you can afford to move out.
