others. They did major remodeling recently. The owner and her are coming Monday to check out the remodeling before they pay contractors. I want very much to have owners contact information , but don't think it is good to request it in front of her. She has hated me and been intimidating since I complained that they violated lease and entered five times in 20 years with no 24 hour notice. She knows I am scared of her as either her manager (who I went over her head when they cheated me of $80 and I told him she screamed at me) told her I'm afraid of her or a new neighbor who is real chummy with her told her when another neighbor blabbed it. I know legally I am allowed to have owner info but scared to request from office as she may try to evict me as they do it all the time. I am thinking of either telling him all the crap we have put up with over the years when I move or getting other tenants grievances and mailing them to HUD and owner and health/safety depts and want to know how

My friend was arrested and is in jail waiting for hearing. she had another "friend" helping her by paying rent, etc. Now the girl is gone and my friend asked me to step in and find out what needs to be done to keep her stuff and her apartment. When I went to the apartment, there was a letter from the landlord via an attorney. The letter states that "only the lessee may pay the rent", there is a late fee due from the last month, there is a utility bill and the "friend" changed the locks and now the landlord wants a copy of the keys. I don't know what to do. I want to help my friend but my name is not on the lease and I do not have the new keys. Anyone have any advice on how to go about figuring this out and saving her place? I have limited funds so an attorney is my last resort. Is there anything I can do?

I want revenge on my apartment complex and/ or manager..what can I do and not get caught

You may or may not read rest..but please give me geniune good revenge ideas and not chasetising or moralizing..I am a generally nice 57 year old women and I've had it...she already ruined my birthday today completely so please don't be mean to me and just give me ideas. Here is a little of the story.

I lived here 21 years and all we have had are managers from h--l, shoddy, jury rigged repairs (I wind up doing most myself as they don't do a lot), and inconsideration. Five times they entered my apartment without notice, once crashing through a 2nd story window (to replace) with no notice while I was a sleep naked in next room. I heard a large crashing of glass, ran to door, and slammed it shut (embarrassed and upset). Plus they left it in shambles like they usually do, rarely cleaning after their repairs. Last time, they entered at least 5 apartments in my building with no notice and broke my chain. I snapped and did a big written complaint of all they did like I had to buy 7 dryers because they kept breaking and one caught on fire. Later found out it was due to birds that built several nests in dryer vent. They knew there was a problem and had complaints from neighing people and replaced some of the townhouses with a cheap grate but not all. One 5 inches from mine had a grate. When I complained, she screamed at and intimidated me and especially said I was lying and that no one else complained and that they delivered notice and don't make mistakes. Several people told me they are scared to complain as they trump up some fake excuse and kick you out. This is subsidized housing and all the people in my building are disabled. It would take an encyclopedia to write all the crap they did to me over the years. Manager has apparently hated me ever since I complained and treats me rudely. During recent remodeling, she cheated me out of $80 we were supposed to get (for staying at a relative instead of hotel so they saved the money as I didn't get money or hotel. When I went over her head, I mentioned to her manager I was scared of her since she screamed at me. He apparently said something to her and she was all nice and stuff saying don't be afraid of her. I now know it was because of him and she hates me more since she was mean ever since. They did all this stuff during remodeling ruining Thanksgiving and Christmas and today is my birthday and she ruined that being extremely rude and mean and getting me crying--long story. It ruined all my plans and I didn't get out of here until 9 due to being upset and them finally shoeing up for repairs at 6 and needing to blow off steam to a neighbor who also hats her. I went to a movie and all through the movie all I could do was think of her and how much I hate her. I can't move yet and I want revenge. There is also mold in room next to my (storage area from top to bottom) and I have allergic rhinitis and am having symptoms of coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breathe and so far no repairs..don't trust them to do it right. Please don't moralize just give me revenge ideas that I won't get caught on to pay her back a tiny fraction of what they put me through time and again and making me cry on my birthday due to meanness and inconsideration.

I am looking at purchasing a large home that has been converted into four apartments. I plan to live in one unit and rent the other three out. It is zoned comercial. And the taxes are over 4,000 per year. Should i change the zoning to R3? Would that affect my taxes (better/worse) And does it cost alot to change zoning?

I am in FL. I have lived here for a year and a half. The carpet was not new when I moved in, but it is really pretty bad now thanks to it being cheap and light colored. A friend told me her brother was a landlord here and if a tenant live in a place more than a year, the damages to carpet were considered wear and tear. Considering they charged me 2 mths. rent with a 60 day notice, is that not enough to get my apartment ready for their "waiting list"? I am sure they will have somebody in here by the end of Jan even though I have to pay rent through Feb already!

I just moved into a 2/2 apartment with a roommate and some food items have disappeared along with an envelope with around $60 within a few days of moving here. I'll spare the details, but I'm almost 100% certain that I did not misplace these items. I actually asked her about the coffee, and she denied seeing it. She actually seems cool, and someone I'd like to get to know/talk to otherwise, but suspecting makes me not want to interact with her. I've thought of two options, confronting her directly about all of it right now, or planting alittle money to confirm my suspicions. Either way getting a lock on my door. This really sucks because basically I am stuck with her for a year. Any other advice/insight?

I left my old apartment in the same condition as when I first rented it (I only stayed 2 months). I had a month-to-month tenancy so there was no lease. I paid the entire 2 months. I gave my landlord the requested 30-day notice and I returned all the keys. I asked that she mail my refund to my new address but she's hasn't done so. She won't even return my calls. What are my options. I'm trying to avoid any legal recourse unless I really have to but I can't see an alternative because she's leaving me no choice.

I'm trying to moving to a different apt. But my prospective landlord wants my renting history verified via a phone call from my current (soon to be former) landlord. My current landlord (out of meaness) has neglected to call. The prospective landlord can do nothing for me until they recieve that phone call. I've lived at this place for 13yrs. My current landlord has only been my landlord for 4yrs. My original landlord has closed his business and moved out of state and can not b reached. Her meaness is rendering my 13yrs of rental history useless. R my legal rights being violated?

I am looking at 2 properties. One is a home, 3 bedroom 1 bath ranch on a walk out basement, and needs some cosmetic updating ( the flooring is in good shape, but its 30 yrs old ) and it sits on a street where everyone has a city lot for a yard, and the house has about 1100 sq foot on the main floor.

The 2nd property is a Condo, it has 1600 square foot, with a walk out basement. 4 bedrooms, and a pretty good sized yard for a condo.

The Condo is a foreclosed property and has been empty ( no offers ) for 6 months.

The reason, I presume, for no offers is the neighbors. They are kinda rednecky people, and their children seem to run thru the streets freely. ( at least the night I was Looking at the condo )

the condo is about 30k cheaper , and the house we probably could afford, but it would be tight, and the condo is about what we are paying in rent right now, but getting almost 600 sq foot more living space + basement. The only draw back is the neighbor.

Advice??

Parents have a two homes they own free & clear and going to put one up for sale after they buy a home soon.(like within a month) Both are on SS with total income of about 1800.00/month. Credit score -720. What they are wanting to do is to go ahead and purchase a home and then sell the one they are presently in. One of the homes is presently being rented out. Since I am in one city and they are in another, they have been talking to someone that I believe is steering them wrong. Please respond and see what would be the best loan for them to go on. Would it be a 80/20 or 103% financing till they sell their home?..... They would be grossing about 100,000.00 from the home they are presently in. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would like to make sure they are steer in the right way.

I've been doing some research and noticed the pay rate for my job is the same in CA as it is in NC and SC. Now I would like for someone to explain how can someone who makes less than 40k a year, qualify for an apartment that is over 1500 dollars a month? Especially when they require you to make 3 times the rent!

When I bought the home and had it built 3 years ago the builder said there was a well behind the house but the water was contaminated and the city I live in get its water from canals. Last year they starting drilling 24/7 making tons of noise and my wife and I had to sleep with earplugs it was so bad. I called the city they said to call the water company they said it is a good well and a source of water for the city and there was nothing I could do. Ive even called the police for noise complaints but to no avail. the workers stopped for 6 months and we thought it was finally over and now there back working in this well installing pumps and making noise from 7am to 7pm every day and we get no peace and quiet. Is there an attorney or somebody out there the knows what I can do, this well is literally 40 to 50 feet from my house and these diesel rigs shake my house and the exhaust fumes prevent me from even going outside. Can I fight this and win? I dont want to move, am I just screwed?

Ive been shopping for a home for about a year now. I want to own a house. I live alone now, but I rent, and thats such a waste of money. I rented the house 5 years ago when prices were good so now it seems Im paying NOTHING compared to everyone else. I just want to know how people do it? Any other young women feel like they are dreaming the impossible? I dont see how I will EVER be able to afford a home and insurance and utilities and all that without having 3 jobs and no life. How do people do it? There is no way. Ive done the calculations and by the time I deduct my car insurance and my estimated utility bills, that leaves me like 400 bucks for a mortgage and insurance. Not gonna happen with todays prices. Not to mention that leaves me nothing to put in savings monthly so if my car breaks down or I get sick, Im screwed. Ugh, its so depressing. Please tell me Im not the only one that feels this way.
