I'm trying to moving to a different apt. But my prospective landlord wants my renting history verified via a phone call from my current (soon to be former) landlord. My current landlord (out of meaness) has neglected to call. The prospective landlord can do nothing for me until they recieve that phone call. I've lived at this place for 13yrs. My current landlord has only been my landlord for 4yrs. My original landlord has closed his business and moved out of state and can not b reached. Her meaness is rendering my 13yrs of rental history useless. R my legal rights being violated?

Legal? Yes, as long as this standard is universally applied. Fair? Probably not. Just bring proof of the length of your tenancy and plead your case.

In reality, your new landlord should be contacting your former landlord to verify your information. Not the other way around.

But consider this: If she's behaving that way now, do you REALLY want to rent from this person?? I'd much rather live in a so-so apartment with a nice landlord than a great place with a poor landlord. If she's not willing to get off her backside and contact your current landlord, how likely is she to get off it to have repairs done to your place??

Don't bother calling the cops like someone else recommended. This is purely a civil matter, the cops will not get involved.

Legal bud is simply hemp, which Im definite you recognize is simply marijuana with an excessively low thc content material, that means that smoking it is going to do not anything given that there is not any thc, that is the lively component that makes persons prime. Sure it appears simply find it irresistible, however its totally vain. I dont realize what you imply through authorized bud, given that there is not any bud that's authorized in the USA, federal regulation says its unlawful. What I assumed you supposed used to be bud that you just see in magazines like prime occasions, that is hemp, no longer different crops no longer grass, no longer lettuce. It is vain if you are seeking to get prime, however can be utilized industrially for plenty of matters. And for the lady that went on approximately how its a conspiracy, it's, however that wasnt the query.

You have little legal recourse. Take your canceled checks to the new land lord and show them to them. What they want is verification that you pay and pay on time!
Your new landlord does not need a phone call, they can choose to do what they want, they just want reassurance that you are a good credit risk.
If your current landlord is such a jerk, even if they call, they may lie just to keep you with them for a while longer.
