I've been looking at some flats, and one has 66 years and the other has 70 years left on their lease. One site says that anything below 80 years is a problem, and other sites say anything less than 60 years.

If global waming will raise the oceans 25 feet that is more than enough to reach most coastal real estate which is the most expensive real estate int he world. If all this real estate is insured by the largests companies that invest the premiums in stocks and other developments and they use the biggest banks that have the most real estate mortgage loans, then what will happen to work financial structures as the water keeps rising?

We are looking at a building that has a flat upstairs and currently has a commercial space downstairs. Is it allowed to live in the commercial space? do you need to change the planning? What is involved? Do commercial spaces pay different taxes than residential. Any advice on buying and converting would be helpful

I asked this in local business and realised that may have been the reason i didn't get a lot of answers

And some people come by, and a big rat comes out and he's dragging the rattrap because it didn't quite kill him, just tell the people he's your pet and that's a trick you taught him.
Good idea?

She needs my approval and signature before she can get off the lease and I told her I will not approve unless we find a replacement I am willing to live with. I told her she will have to pay her part of the rent until we do so. Am I allowed to do this? Are there anymore suggestions on what I can or should do?

My room mate decided to tell me friday night that she will be moving out the next day. We have a lease on our apartment until mid January. She has paid for July but says she found a room mate to replace her. Do I HAVE to take this person even if I don't approve of them? I am a young non-smoking college girl and the person she is having replace her is a 24 year old MALE smoker. He is really gross and used to be on drugs. (I don't know if he does them anymore) Do I have to just accept anyone to replace her on the lease(if he gets approved by the apartment complex) or am I allowed to be a little picky?

I am divorcing, and have reached a settlement agreement, husband keeps house and buys me out. I will have a set amount to put down on new home in about 60 days, or sooner. I am trying to decide if it is better to buy right away or rent for 6 months. My fica score is not the greatest, mid 600's, so I will pay off all bills to show no debt, raising my score in time. I am basically a first time buyer since last mortgage was only in husbands name. I was thinking maybe of renting, and putting down payment in 6month cd to earn interest. I am just really confused what to do, as I really wasnt expecting the divorce or a settlement. Thanks.

My husband and I have lousy credit but make good money. My best friend and his wife have the same problem. Neither of us can get approved for a mortgage on our own. I am wondering if there are mortgages out there where more than 2 people can own a home. We are both renting in the same apartment complex right now and we practically live together anyway, but we really want out of here and want a place of our own. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are alot of great answers to my previous question about paying or abandoning our last months lease to move into our new home. We already know that it could possibly hurt us in the long run, but we have decided that we would pay off the balance throughout the next several months. We have even thought about being honest and just telling our leasing agents what we are contemplating doing, but fear they will only threaten us for thier money even harder. I mean it's the final month of our lease, what is the worse that could happen? If any legal actions, or the effect or our credit were to happen, Im sure it wont happen to well after we have moved into our new home.

One party claims that they do not have to pay the rent because they paid in full on June 1st, yet they stayed the entire month of June and into July. My question is. Are they still responsible for paying the rent for the entire month of June in which they stayed. They claim that the rent paid on June 1st was for the month of june and not for staying the month of May.
