Does Sunrise Florida get hit by hurricanes?

Looking for a reasonable condo in Fla...second home to spend the winters.
However do not want the home destroyed during the hurricanes.

Anywhere in Palm Beach, Broward, or Dade county is at risk for hurricanes. Most buildings are built to be able to withstand them, but nothing is guarenteed. If that is really a concern, I would suggest trying to find a place in Orlando, Ocala, or Tallahassee......somewhere north and more inland. That takes the fun out of being able to be near the beach, but its a trade off.
