The b*stards have brought in a £10 monthly charge if you don't have a certain amount of money in your account. This helps to slip me into the red again and the charges are still £25 each. I have already claimed my past charges back.

I filed bankruptcy two years ago, after my lender initiated foreclosure. According to the bankruptcy lawyer, having the mortgage included in the bankruptcy would avoid having a forclosure on my credit report. Recently I found that the lender is still reporting the loan as a foreclosure. I disputed the item, and got back a reply stating, "This creditor has
verified to Equifax that the current status is being reported correctly". Am I correct in thinking that the item should be changed? If so, how should I proceed? If the item is changed to reflect inclusion in the bankruptcy, will it still show the payment history?

Okay, to make a really long and comlicated story short, an online merchant falsy advertised a product and I withdrew my order but they still charged my account and it has since been overdrawn and I haven't the funds to bring the balance to 0+. There are more details as to why I cannot dispute it but that's another story ;-)

I am now on the "Black List" but am curious if I can open a savings account. It is impossible to overdraw a savings account since ATM's charge you account at the withdraw. Unlike debit.

My new job pretty much requires you have EFT but I can't. The account has been closed so I can't even have it charged to my account to bring up the balance.

I honestly cannot understand why anyone would put their money into a for-profit financial institution. It's not like there isn't an alternative. Mutuals! In Australia credit unions and some of the building societies are mutuals (I assume most countries have their own equivelants). They make no profits. Why do people stay in the banks as the banks make billions of dollars profit per year? Most of that money is straight out of the pockets of their customers. Whereas the mutuals, all the "profit" goes straight back to members (customers) in the form of more services, lower fees, etc.

So why? Please help me understand.

I have a $300.00 car note, a $100.00 car insurance, $140.00 orthodontics bill, and $40.00 credit card bill. Recently I cashed a check into my savings account for $2960.00, thinking that was help me pay off some of these bills. I just learned that the check may be a fraud. I asked the bank teller was it OK and she assured me that it was, I also called the company to check to she if the check was real. Now I owe my bank $1600.00. I'm 21 with good credit(had)... What to do?

I have no pension, but I own my own home with no mortgage. I also have quite alot of cash in the bank. If I get a financial advisor to invest this for income for me, with index linked investments (so that the capital goes up with inflation) and I want to retire on an income of, say, £15000 per year before tax in today's terms, how much cash do I need in the bank to generate this income, which would enable me to retire and live a life of leisure?
I am 35 years old.
Thanks

I have owned my current vehicle for 10 months. I desperatley want to trade it in for a new vehicle. However, trading it in would mean adding 6k of negative equity. This makes the new vehicles price much higher than it is worth and requiring $1800 down. However, if I do not trade in my vehicle, my payments would be lower and I would only need $500 down. Yes I know this would be horrible to have on my record. However, I actually had a repo 3 years ago (and was still able to finance a vehicle). Not to mention by keeping this newer vehicle and making all successful payments it should prove that I was responsible.

I have a Bank of America VISA debit card (check card) and I gave out the numbers to a company I have since come to believe is a fraud. Is there any way for me to prevent FUTURE charges from this company (i.e., to prevent them, specifically, from grabbing more money from my account)? I was suckered but I don’t want it to get worse.

The policy is participating and through a mutual insurance company (guardian Life). I figure after about 15 years of paying, the dividends could end up paying for the policy and id have it for the rest of my life for free. as the dividends keep accumulating i could use the extra dividends over the premium to either take as cash and have a lifetime income. am i missing anything? this sounds like a good plan. is anything i mentioned wrong or am i overestimating the benefit of buying this policy so young? I may not need the life insurance protection now that i have no family but I will eventually need it so why not get a good rate now.
