Starting your own business. How do you do that? You get a job in a field that interests you, ideally a field you love. Entry level is OK. Work for a few years, keeping your eyes and ears open to EVERYTHING that goes on, whether it's directly involved with you or not. Soak up everything like a sponge. Observe how the business operates. How do they get customers? How do they recruit employees? What do the bosses do right, and what mistakes do you see them make? If you are interested in all aspects of the business like this, your interest will most likely be noticed and you will be promoted, which will give you even better access to learning the "ropes". Eventually, you will realize that you've learned all you can learn. Now, quit your job, take your hard-won expertise, and start your own competitive business, copying the good things and avoiding the mistakes. You may struggle for the first year or two, but stay with it. Be willing to do ANYTHING that needs doing. Eventually you will be able to hire people to do the jobs you don't like, but you must know each job yourself in order to be a good supervisor. Learn the right way to sweep the floors, set up the office, operate the computers, do marketing, fill orders, hire and fire people, keep good records, drive a forklift, purchase inventory, etc. etc. Work hard in the early years. It will get easier, your business will grow, and you will make far more money than you ever could working a job.

setting smaller, attainable goals that help you reach your overall goal. also, not getting discouraged if things don't go your way on the first try. it's also a good idea to keep your situation in perspective. appreciating what you already have going for you in life. some people have it worse than you, some people have it better. good luck!
