I'm a recent college graduate and I need $1500 to pay my real estate broker. I never really had to withdraw from anything besides an ATM before, and it seems like $1500 from a branch which isn't affiliated with my bank is either not possible or costly. Is it possible for me to take my money out for free, if not what's the cheapest way? Thanks for the help.

I have always heard the saying money isn't everything. If that is true, I was wondering some things about that statement. If that is true, can you tell a homeless person cheer up money isn't everything? Can you tell a bill collector you don't need to pay your debts cause money isn't everything? Can you tell a guy with a wife and kids who lost his job cheer up money isn't everything? Can you just up and quit your job because you don't need money after all money isn't everything right? If you win the lottery worth millions of dollars, you can just throw all that away because money isn't everything right? If your child is very sick and in need of medical attention but you don't have insurance or money to pay for treatment, don't worry about it because money isn't everything right? You need bail money to get yourself out of jail but wait no you don't because money isn't everything right? There is no need to raise money to find cures for deadly diseases because money isn't everything.

I made $20k on one day in my old 401 k. In the same week, my car was repossesed. I paid the back payments to get caught up, but I struggle to make the $414.00 payment. I owe just over $13k on the car worth $8k.
I have had my electricity turned off twice in the past 8 months due to non payment..
Does it make sense to take money out of the 401k to pay off the car? My currently employer puts 15% into my 401(b) account, and I have a fixed benefit pension from a long ago employer. Even with paying off this car from the 401k that just went public, I will have about 12k in that account when I am done (assuming I take out 35% withholding to cover the penalties and normal income tax from the withdrawal).
I am a single dad paying rent, child support and I do not live extravagantly at all. I have a medically fragile child with some medical bills even after insurance.
I am 46 years old and plan to work till I drop dead!

I have 2 loans on my home, the first is a negatve arm so my loan is growing. I owe 275 and the houses are selling for 260 so selling is not an option. I also filed bankruptcy a couple of months ago, the case have already been confirmed and I am making payments for my chapter 13. I live in CA. My question is how will the foreclosure work? How will it affect my credit and will I loose my job or go to jail if I walk away? my neighborhood is very dangerous, a murder happened recently behind me and there was a drive by last night. I am so scared living here. My husband is in law enforcement so we do not want him living here, we are scared this will affect his job. What do I do? Please help me.

Hi,

I wrote a personal check to an individual a while back (nearly 1 year) and I see that it still hasn't been cashed. Is there a "shelf" life on personal checks? Am I still responsible for this?

Thanks!

Does anyone know how to open a French bank account without being resident there? I fly to Paris most weekends and will eventually be moving there permanently next year. So I want to get a Bank Account set up now before I leave so I can start building savings.

I have heard about the CA Britline one, but that one is no good for me. Does anyone know how I can open one while still resident in Ireland?

I need some advice. I always plan on paying all my bills on time but it seems like I can never get out of debt. I basically had to financially support myself since I was 14. I put myself through school. I have never been able not to worry about money. I am about $25,000 in debt right now. I make about $32,100 a year. I am feeling overwhelmed and need some suggestions.

I've seen a tv show about a neighborhood that had financing with a fixed rate and then it changes to variable and they can't afford their house payment. Almost everyone in the neighborhood had their house taken away. We plan on refinancing when our 3 years is up (2 years left). Was there any reason why those people didn't refinance??? If there is I want to know what went wrong so we don't make the same mistakes.

Hey, I've been wanting to get a car, but I don't know how to start, where to start. If I go to a bank (I have 0 credit) will they still give me a loan? And second, should I apply at dealerships for credit? I'm looking for a small vehicle around 2-6k just to drive to work. I drive my parent's truck but its a V8, gas is killing. And I work part time, how does all this affect me? Thx!

To start, I am now pretty humbled. I was making 60k a year, driving a new sports car, and living life happily with minimal debt. My wife and I made some poor financial decisions and I was left with a bit debt after our divorce. It is now at a point where with the economy, working in the sales field, I am only making just under 40k. I have 22k left to pay on the car at $550 a month, paying about $320 a month in gas to travel to my job, about 20k in unsecured debt. I had to abandon my lease in the apartment that I was living in so i have no clue what I owe to them. I tried to trade the vehicle in for something different but trade in is only worth 15k, so about 7k in negative equity, and with a low to mid 500 credit score, nobody is willing to work with me. I have thought about filing a bankruptcy, but even at 40k a year, I am above my means for a chapter 7 bankruptcy according to lawers, and breaking too even per month on a chapter 13. Maybe someone has a idea of a solution. thanks.

Money you do not have to pay back.

I recently purchased a car and the finance manager told me that due to a bankruptcy 3 years ago, 'the lender wanted to make sure they were protected, so they wanted me to purchase the extended warranty and gap protection'. I put $2500 down on the car and the gap/warranty were $1950, so my down payment was basically wiped out. Can the finance company legally require this? Now that I think about the conversation he never said the word 'required'... he said it exactly as I worded it above. If it's not required and he just insinuated that it was in order to make money I will feel rather foolish. Can you canel this protection after you've already signed the deal? If so, do they issue you a refund that could then be put toward the principle? Rework the contract? Thanks so much for your help!
