I was told that I will be eligible for a double-digit pay raise but am not sure what that equates to?

If I make $35,000 a year (which is about 16.80 an hour) what would a double digit raise be? Is it an additional at least $10 an hour? Or is it an additional at least 10K a year raise?

I am confused!

Physicians have to face suits frequently. If the judgment is greater than his insurance will pay, he might lose his home.
How can he sign over the equity(appraised value minus mortgage) to his wife, to avoid suit loss?

I went in to my bank for a loan, and the sales-person tried to sell me 'benefits' of their loan over other banks (I'd seen Northern Rock seem to be the cheapest) I always thought that cheapest was best, but does anyone know of what sort of features I might find useful, and is it worth paying extra? (I think my quote was 8.3% which seems substantially more than Northern Rock.) Thanks for your help!

One of my checks were stolen. I don't know when or how. I keep them in a safe place so I thought. However I PERSONALLY know the person who stole it. This person has done it before to other family members but nothing has ever been done. However I don't want to take this sitting down. I am a single mom and although the money is not alot at this time. what if this person finds my checks again and tries to take me for more money. what happens to them? What do I do? Do I go to the bank? U can obviously see that this is NOT my signature.... (not sure why the bank would cash it either) But do I call the police? I'm very confused and not sure how to go about this. This has NEVER happened before... Please all advice is welcomed.. thank you again

When I file my tax at the end of the year, I am sure I'll get a decent chunk back in refund. Instead of getting a refund, how can I go about getting more of my money per paycheck as suppose to paying more during the year and getting it back later. People say doing so is like lending money to the government for free. I just need more cash during the year with the additional expense. Thanks for the advise.information!

I read an article about Roth IRA being better than a 403B. It said you do not have to pay taxes on a Roth. I also am wondering if I quit my job, can I roll the $45K I have in my 403B into a Roth without a penalty?
I am seriously considering leaving my job.

I have about 2000 dollars in US Savings bonds. All have matured and a few have begun to collect interest. They have all been in my parents safe deposit box. I would like to cash them out and use them to buy a CD as I plan to move to Tampa, FL from Newark, DE in about 10months. What are the tax penalties against cashing out one's savings bonds? Is there anyway to NOT cash them out, but move them to my own bank account?

So here's story.. My checking account balance was around $10 and I accidentaly took out $200 cash from an ATM, thinking that my payroll was deposited to my account. My balance was -$190 and the next day, after my $250 payroll came in, it was still -$150. I'm really confused about WHY they charged me so many overdraft fees. This is unacceptable. Within the next day of the withdrawal, I had about 6 or 7 $25 NSA fees charged to my account. I tried to contact the bank but they wouldn't even talk to me. It's been two weeks now and my balance decreased to -$170. They keep charging me fees.

I assume this varies from famility to family, but is there a good rule of thumb on how much is a "right" ammount related with your income?

Is a month's worth of your salary too much, too little, just right?

how do you do it?

I bought some furniture on 2 years 0%. There are still 4 monthly payments of £26 to go. I have recently changed my bank account and forgot aboout this direct debit as it comes out near the end of the month whereas all the others come out at the begining. So the D/D failed and the bank have written to me and charged their usual £39 but the company have written to me as well and have added £25 on to the outstanding balance for "the cost of the letter" ( this is in addition to demanding a cheque to cover the missed payment ) Can they legally do this or should they send a default notice or simlar first?

Recently, my car was written off and I was awarded £2000 from insurance. I have bought a small run around car for less than £250 and want to use the £2000 to provide the funding for a car that ill buy in about a years time. I am looking for something that can double or even triple (or quadruple??!) my investment in 12 months or so.

I have already opened a savings account and stuck the dough in there but 5% apr is rubbish on a modestly small amount of cash. Any ideas?

No, i wont put £2k on red at the local casino - though i did think about it...! Would be sooo sweet...

Anyway any other ideas?

Due to divorce and my own errors my credit is horrible. I am not looking for handouts or pity, but am looking for a chance to make things right.

Need a loan for 5000.00 that I am willing to pay high interest rates to secure. This loan would be to pay off some debts that would then reestablish my credit.

I need US legitmate verifiable lenders willing to talk to me and then willing to take a chance.

A dear friend of mine has, through various bad decisions and one freeloading partner, had to declare herself bankrupt. She has been offered a position in Japan, teaching English in a rural school. The problem is, she needs £3K to get there.

Obviously she cannot get a loan, as no bank would give her one. She's having a lot of trouble finding and keeping any cash. So could I set up a bank account to put the money into, and give it to her at the end of it, or would that break some law or code?
