I've got 2 credit cards that are maxxed out at this time, but working casual it wasn't a problem for the bank to give me the cards to use but when I apply for debt consolidation then all these factors form and I'm told no go.

Another mistake I made, (which I should've known better) was that I applied for a number of online personal loan applications not realizing it would take the toll on my credit file history.

I'm going to close off one of the credit cards in early jan. (1500$) and the other one (4500$) will just be able to put 1500 and then ask to lower the limit.

My question is if I just pay off the card in one go (1500$) and haven't been keeping up with the normal monthly payments , will that show bad on my history?

I just want the cards gone... so pay off in one go, close card off .. will that be a bad idea and would it affect my prospects in applying for a loan in the future?

Cheers

oh and any other advice you want to offer to a troubled CC user.
Thanks :)

I just opened a new Disney Rewards card from Chase and transferred my balance from Citi- about $2500. I realized when I went to sign up online that I had another card from Chase that has not been used in about 3 years. I called and after much pleading from the Chase person closed my account. I have an excellent credit score- but is this going to make my credit score go down? I still have the Citi card should I keep that open or cancel that?

I have applied for cards @ Visa, department stores, Bank of America, my own friggin bank Washington Mutual, and have got nothing, zilch, nada! So can someone tell me what's the deal? I'm a 19 year old full time student, part-time worker who @ the moment has no financial responsibilities, so have had no way to build credit. I have no idea why I keep getting denied, so can someone give me some reasons why or how, and what I can do? Thanks so much.

We got ourselves into a mess when we refinanced our home a year ago, we were given a good faith estimate, and come to find out they gave us a pick a pay loan, we can only afford the interest. Our homeowners ins. was taken away, we called other banks to help, but even with my husbands good credit, everyone was afraid to touch it. We didn't want cash out. And we have credit card bills that are high. we only pay the interest on them too. this month was the 1st time we were late on 1 credit card. I hear a lot of credit counselers are scam artists, and we already have been scammed, so we want to be very careful this time. Any ideas? also the bank said if we don't get homeowners ins. by may, they will forclose on our house.

There's a bid on my eBay account that I didn't make. It's for a $58,000 automobile. I don't have this kind of scratch laying around and would never buy a Japanese sportscar.

I have reported the fraud to eBay, the FTC, my local police department, and all 3 credit bureaus? I have changed my passwords on my eBay account, my PayPal account, and my personal email.

What can I do to protect my computer...somehow I was violated and I don't like doing all this clean up work.

Is there a max or a reasonable rate that could be achieved? With a current FICO of 670 what is the worst it could go to and what would be the increase?

I have already pulled a copy of all 3 credit reports and went through and tried to recognize the items. I also have the phone numbers and addresses for some of the places, but not all. Is it best to start with the small bills and work up or the larger bills and work down? The majority of the collection accounts are for medical bills from when my daughter had surgery. Any ideas that may help me get on track would be greatly appreciated. I also know that once I get this settled and as well as now, I need to make sure all of my bills are paid on time and that the accounts in good standing need to keep low balances. Thanks.

I had a wack job landlord that altered the lease to make it 3 years not 6 months, we left 1 month before it was over because they were awful showing up all hours claiming they needed to do inspections, they left their stuff there and told us we were not to touch it etc. This was in MO. We moved to FL and have been here for 2 years. In a month we are moving to PA. We were not aware of this case until 5 days before the court date and we were in FL the hearing was in MO, we had no way to appear. They got a default judgment and immediately started garnishing my husbands wages. They tried to levy our bank accounts and everything. These people are nuts, i did research and they have done this to at least 5 other people. My thing is does SOL start from the date of judgment or the date on the so called contract? PA is 4 years on most creditors do they have to abide by that since thats where we are moving? We own property they didn't touch that.

I'm 18, and interested in getting my first credit card. I want to build up my credit which, I don't think will be a problem because I'm really good at paying bills on time. What are some good tips as well as do's and don'ts when I get my first credit card? What should I be aware of? What would be helpful to avoid?
