You can't truly 'repair' a bad credit history. The best you can do is to make it history and therefore irrelevant. (This assumes that your credit history isn't bad because of errors, but truly because you messed it up).
The way to fix it is:
Be current on all accounts.
Make every payment on time every time. (this is the single most important aspect of a credit rating, the last 24 months payment history. Fix this for 2 years and watch your score soar)
Lower the amount you owe, preferably to less than half of available credit.
It's simple. (Note, not easy, there's a huge difference between simple and easy).
