I am about to get discharge from chapter 13 bankruptcy at the end of the year. I just got married and I am about to have a baby. I want to buy a house next summer. Is this possible? I have three credit cards right now that I have been paying on time to help boost my credit score but I know that bankruptcy is going to mess me up. Any advice..........

TygerLily, posted this question in another forum and received mean responses.

I think you had a valid question and should ignore that nasty so-called know-it-alls comment. Some people are so miserable they have to try and make everyone else that way as well. I am going to post your question and my attempt at help.

Credit Question; score update?
I am taking the advice of a lender and paying off a bill that is 2 years old. I am trying to increase my scores. Lender said the credit score will decrease prior to increasing. WHAT!?!??! Can anyone help me understand what is meant by this? When will the score increase?

(I know very little about credit ratings, other then I have a good one. Which mean my interests rates are lower then most peoples. I do think that it sounds strange you credit would drop when you pay off an old debt. That is just my opinion)

Common on folks, please help her out.

So I've been paying high interest for a computer I dont use and I want out. The thing is I try to tell them if I can return it but they say that I cant so I'm thinking, "I signed with the devil!" I want out! I just want a laptop and not have to worry about astronomical interest rates. They lied to me saying that interests wouldn't be charged until after a year and not 6 months like they've done. HELP!!!

Hello. I have a credit score of 742. I was wondering if I should cancel my credits cards with a $0 balance? I want to keep my 2 (two) oldest accounts because it will show my credit history (such as never late, etc). See I think I have too many credit cards open. I have a total of 7 cards open, BUT I only use two of them (the two that I use are new b/c I transfered my other balances into them-total balance on both cards is $3,000) So should I keep the two cards I have had the longest (4 years) which carry a $0 balance and the 2 cards that have a balance on them? Which would leave me with only 4 open accounts; only two of them carring a balance. Should I cancel the other 3 credit cards which I do not use but carry a $0 balance (they are Walmart, Dell, and Lane Bryant. altogether avaliable credit of over $2,000)

But here is another thing to thing about. I am about to purchase a home here in the next 4 months or so. So I do not want my credit score to go down. Please help!!

I was also offered a loan through Misuko Lending. I really need to know if they are a scam. My credit is also terrible!! I asked them several questions and they seem to have an answer for everything!! They state that their address is restricted. I found this to be unusual. They also stated they were with the better business bureau but they have a good standing and don't show up at their site. They seem to be a little quick on the phone with answers. Does anyone know if this is a scam? I really need to know!! Thanks

Ok, so I'm 18, out of school, and currently working a job to help ease the money my parents have to spend on me for college. I want to get a credit card but only because there are some things you just can't buy via money order or cash, aka online buying. I'm well aware about only buying from reliable sites and identity theft too, so no need for the warnings. I do not want buy anything beyond my financial limits, as I only want to use it to purchase things I can't buy locally and immediately after purchase pay it off.

Are there any recommended credit cards with my details or it is it pretty much anything works, as long as I don't get into debt and pay everything off right? Thanks for any help or recommendations in advance.

I just found out today that some company has been "trying" to collect $20 from some past due account that I didn't know was past due as no one has ever tried to contact me. Well that's not exactly correct, 2-3 months ago someone contacted me and I told them to send me the original invoice and I would pay it but they never did. Now I have a $20 collections debt on my credit report and my score has gone down from about 780 to about 680.

I filed disputes with both agencies reporting it stating that I have no knowledge of this debt. But my question is will they remove it? Technically I do have knowledge but as of yet this collections company has yet to provide me with what I requested.

Second, if I just pay this amount will my credit score go back to where it was?

And how the heck does $20 effect a credit score that much. I have about $30K in fixed debts that I pay every month on time. It should be obvious I can afford a one time charge of $20.

I am looking to get a debt consolidation loan to payoff some debt. From what I hear this place will work with people who don't have good credit. I am wondering if somebody had first hand experience.

I do not want any credit checks, I don't want to give out my SSN or real name, I have no problems with giving out my address for shipping purposes, but I've been burnt and I will not use my bank issued cards online again. Is this possible.

I'm 30 days out on my line of credit payment and the collectors call me at least 8 times a day and even after 8pm. Can they do that, and if not, who can I report them too?

Also I talked to a friend and she told be that no matter what a credtor will stay on your report for 7 years, but Ive heard if you paid them off then you can request that they are removed from your credit report...do you know which is true? I really want to try and fix my credit Im only 22 and its not the best but I want to do what I can now so when I want to buy a house I dont have little things stopping me. Any suggestion on how to go about that?

I have some past due bills that date back 4yrs ago. ( I know I should have been more responsible) But I'm older now and matured and I am trying to repair my credit but these credit inquiries are not helping at all. It seems like everytime this company runs my credit my score decreases by 2 points. How do I stop that? Right now I can't pay them because I'm still not able to financially. I don't make enough. But I want to though I'm still recovering from the past hardship I experienced. So if anyone can help please let me know. Much Thanks!!

I was just pre-approved for a 2007 Infinti G35 and I have a 580 credit score. I went to the dealer and put a down payment of $500 to finance this car. I didnt want to put down anything untill i knew what my monthly payments are going to be. I told the dealer no more then 500-600 per month and he said that was dueable. I have no co-signer and have never financed in the past. The bank is still currently working on my loan, and apparently my car will be ready by the end of this week. Could I have possibily been scammed?

I recently made settlements with collection agencies to pay off the debts i owed. I made them send me letters indicating that a settlement was made. I paid with electronic check debit so I have proof from my bank indicating that the accounts have been paid but i want to know what's the best way these accounts can be listed on my credit report that will postively impact my score. Can the collection agencies delete these items from my credit report after the settlement payments were processed? Also how do you get the collection or Credit bureaus to change the status of accounts, or delete accts that have already been paid.
