Uh, from this and your other questions, you seem to be a person who has quite an imagination! The credit bureaus keep records by social security number, so unless your husband used your son's ss# and got credit based on it, then his bad credit wouldn't be on your son's record. And if his dad did that, well shame on him, and your son's quarrel is with his dad, not the reporting agencies. Could one of the credit bureaus make a mistake somehow? Maybe. Could all three make the same mistake, even though they operate independently? VERY unlikely. And if somehow your husband did this, your son needs to notify the credit bureaus. And what does all this have to do with US Steel, anyway? Any by the way, kids don't even TAKE SAT's all years, so your son having "the highest SAT scores in his entire school for 3 years straight" makes no sense.

There's actually four credit bureaus! The credit bureaus that are used most often (The Big Three) are Transunion, Equifax and Experian. There's also a fourth credit bureau called Innovis.

Hi, If you're in the USA then the following "Credit Reporting Agency" applies. Canada doesn't use them - only TransUnion of Canada and Equifax
