I had a attourney call me but they would not say what it was about (voicemail). I suspect it is for a old credit card debt I was not able to pay 10 years ago.

Should I call? What should I say? Or should I just call a attourney?

Seem like some sort of trap to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know that closing the card, is one sure way. However, that will hurt my credit score and my chances of getting a house loan. Any idea's on getting around these fee's in the meantime?

I agreed a contract online to play in a local football league as the manager for the team but never signed for the contract instead done online through a form.

After a few months with some bad results, the rest of the team have all given up now the company who run the league are saying im responsible to pay for the match fees at triple cost for the last 11 games remaining.

I havent signed any documentation am i liable?

I have told the company numerous times about being short on players but nothing has happend to help me.

Plz help everything seems to be going wrong for me over the last couple of months

Thanks

Ok, I just turned 18 and applied for a credit card...and it says that it won't accept because I don't have any credit history??!! Duh I don't since I've never had a credit card before, but how do I make it accept? I'm new to all this.

I entered into an agreement with a friend/boyfriend that he would lend me $3700 for me to pay off a few credit card debts etc to improve my credit, and I would pay him $100 a month until it was paid off (including interest). I received the check on a Thursday, deposited it into my account and the check cleared my bank on Friday. All of the funds were there for me to use. I sent off my checks to my credit card companies, and as far as I was concerned everything was fine.

That Sunday, he called me and told me he had canceled the check...my heart sunk. He had made me in essence write $3700 in bad checks! My question is whether or not he can stop payment on that check even though I have used part of the money? If the bank didn't have the money, why would they have let me use the funds? My mom is going to be depositing the $3700 in my bank account today to keep me from having all of these bad checks which would probably lead to a criminal matter...but wow can he do this?

We have unsuccessfully tried water cutoff, collection agency, liens, and suits. We are willing to try them all again if there is a method that works.

I am getting sick of having to dig out my license every time I pay with my credit card. The back of the card is signed, but anymore that doesn't matter. No matter where I am shopping (I live in a VERY low crime area) I am asked to show ID.

Do I legally have to show ID or can I insist they rely only on the signature on the back? I live in Michigan if that matters.

i will be getting married soon but my future wife has around $26,000 of debt from college and her car. and i do not have no debt, and my credit score is perfect, now from my understanding when married her debt is now my debt which is bullshit if you ask me. and i also have quit a bit of money saved in a personal savings account that i have saved through the years from my hourly job. first off will her debt show up on my credit report as me owing $26,000 when married too? and the money i have saved i do not want to tell her as of right now until i feel comfortable later on to see how the marrige works out because who the hell knows if someday i get a divorce paper unexpectedly or something who knows what the future holds what looks good today which it is otherwise i would not be marrying her, might not be good tommarow?

Yes I was one of those people who ruined my credit in my early 20's. I was working ironically for a credit card company. And as a bonus once you hit the one year mark they gave you a credit card. ( the rest i am sure you can guess what happened) I haven told by some people it drops off after approx 7 1/2 years. Others have told me it stay on there but doesn't impact your score. I recently pulled a Transunion report and on it, it has the dates that these items are expected to be removed. Which all of them are in about in a year. I have a small car loan which I hope will boost my credit rating for the future.

In 2002 and 2004 I enrolled my grandson at two seperated schools as I had him in my care at the time, howerver I did register his parents names and addresses as executors for all school accounts, as I am a widow and did not receive any financial assistance for his care. They failed to pay for the school fees and now the Debt Collectors are holding me personally responsible for the two debts. I am refusing to pay out of principal. Please advise.

I got scores in the low 600s. I have one open tradeline and the rest are all paid accounts. I need to get my scores higher and I'm looking for some help or tips. Is it possible to add about 100 points in 60 days? I want to buy a house and I'm self employed. I figure the higher my scores, the less money down.

I am deliquent on 7 cards for 3 months but only one card has been calling me since the payment was 2 days late. They have called me from 8 am till 10 pm, monday thru sunday. I have written to them and even sent small payments at first but have stopped that since I can't afford it and it made no difference to them. Their law firm called me a few minutes ago (yes on a sunday morning). I have no money to pay them anything and am a couple months away from not even being able to pay rent, so the credit card bill is last on my list. I live in a cheap apartment in a bad area, walk or take the bus (have no car), nothing valuable and no money in the bank except when pay small paycheck goes in (I make about 700 month after taxes and also have a child to feed. I wanted to file bankruptcy but cannot find anyone in this state (Texas) that offers free legal aid. If I was a violent criminal, I could get an attorney, but for bankruptcy, no one will help. I was stable for 14 years.

I noticed, it was posted, that Washington credit card's SOL for collection is 6 years. I thought it was 3 years. I looked online and found 5 credit and legal websites that show open accounts(no end blanance until account is cancelled) in WA are colllectible for 3 years and written accounts(such as loans with an end) have a 6 year collection SOL.

I also read that the Truth in Leading Act states all credit cards in the US are open accounts.

So, is WA SOL for pen accounts/credit cards 3 years, or 6 years. I am not sure.
