I know that closing the card, is one sure way. However, that will hurt my credit score and my chances of getting a house loan. Any idea's on getting around these fee's in the meantime?

Call the credit card company and advise them that you do not wish to do business with a credit card company that charges fees and that there are many out there that dont.

Request that the fees be waived. Some companies will do it and others wont.

Good Luck

Nope, once you agree to sign up for a credit card with an annual fee, I'm afraid you're stuck. The only way perhaps is to call the credit card company and ask to switch to a card with no fee. For example, the Am Ex Delta card is pretty expensive per year, but if you switch to the Am Ex Blue card it's 0 per year.... however, no miles.

If you do not want to close the account? Then pay the fee, you knew what it was when you signed up for the card.

Besides, whatever your annual fee is, it's a small price to pay if that account helps you to be approved for a home loan.

When a person is just getting started with credit, or has bad credit, it is not unreasonable for them to ask for annual fees or higher interest rates.

But once you have been there a while, and established a good reputation, there is NO reason for them to drop those fees. And by now, you should have dozens of other companies anxious for your business. Your current credit card company knows this!

So just tell them to lower it or you will take your business elsewhere. I personally do not think paying it will benefit you one bit.

f they charge you, call and ask if they have to. Tell them you found a card somewhere else where there's no annual fee.
They won't cancel it if you don't complain.
