I need a small personal loan of $4,000-$5,000 -- unfortunately, my credit is too new and the only thing on my credit is an account with my credit card company who i only had for the last 4-5 months. Even though they reported all my payments have been on time... my credit is still too new.

So I applied at American General, a loan company, and I took my mom to co-sign, unfortunately they still couldn't get me approved because her score isn't strong (I believe in the 570-580 range) so I am trying to find a place I can get a personal loan at to fix up my car so it run's.

Honestly, its frustrating cause I have to wait 2 years for most of these places as they tell me to build up enough credit... but then they tell me to bring a co-signer, I do, and they STILL can't get me one. My mom is my only source of co-signature... basically, where can I get me a personal loan with a co-signer with a score like my mom's and be able to actually GET A LOAN!!!!?

I need help bringing my student loans under control. I have a federal loan and SEVEN (smaller) private loans. Since graduation, they have never been all current at the same time, so I don't qualify for a consolidation loan. I can't stand dealing with the agencies, since they treat me like a cockroach, but I really need to bring everything current with one or possibly two payments. Sending $100 - $200 each for the private loans (the federal one is much more) is bleeding me dry and my credit is awful!!!!

Please let me know if you've been in this situation and how you got out of it (preferably without having to speak directly with those rude people who treat you badly).

Thanks!

merchant or agency that you pay will definitely delete the mark off your credit report?
Do you just have to take their word for it, or is there some way of guaranteeing they will live up to their word?

I keep trying to figure my problem out, without telling all my biz. Ok, so I want to consolidate my bills. They are NOT credit card bills, however. They are bills that fell past due and came about when I was going through a VERY difficult time. It only comes up to about $1600 maybe a little more. Everywhere I go that helps people with these kinds of bills expects you to have like $2500 or more in debt. I don't have that much, but I'm a student, who lives alone, and if I pay what I've been paying on my bills I won't have them paid off until like a year or so and mean while I can't afford to save money or even move. I have NO emergency money, I feel strapped and stuck in a really bad cycle. I want to get some relief and some help, but it seems like my debt isn't severe enough!! Anyone know where I can turn??

Chase raised my limit to $4,000 on the terms that I spent $100/mo or kept an avg daily bal of $1,000. Normally, it's not a problem since I use this card for gas and pay it off monthly, but one month was the month my son was born.
- according to the monthly recap I spent $95
- according to THEM it was $51
- I looked at the bills and one transaction that occured during the billing cycle was forward to the following bill (which I had no way of knowing) - that would've brought the total to $97

My primary complaint is that due to the birth I charged about $600 worth of stuff (car insurance) since we were running low on cash. They dropped my limit w/o warning causing me to have over 65% of my limit used.

They ran a reg. request to raise my limit and it was denied because of the recent change in the limit. I've sent a few letters, but they keep telling to me (standard responses) to apply for an increase.

How can I get them to raise my limit?

I spend a lot of time in the US (about 3 month a year), but I'm not a resident. I have two addresses that I can use, and did for years. I have an Social Security card ( not valid for work) but tried to open bank account and make a driving license but hit the wall. I would love to spend even more time legally in the US, that's why I care about my reputation. thanks

Hi,
I recently scored a 850 credit score - according to TransUnion. They say I'm a "B" because the new scores now go up to 990.
I want to get a higher score. I pay all my bills but I have too many unused credit cards. Two months ago I stupidly applied for a new credit card to get a discount. If I close this account today, will that raise my credit score, or lower it?

I'll try to make this quick and simple. Husband has a couple of past debts. He has a non profit company taking care of them by paying a mothly payment and the company sends it. Keep in mind that he hasn't paid anything in a loooong time and is trying to get everything satisfied now.

Once we close on this house he is paying these debts off in full. He called the one attorney representing one of the creditors and told him that he wanted to pay the debt in full once we close on the house and wanted a print out of the full pay off. The attorney sent the payoff print out and is continuing to receive the monthly payment through the nonprofit company.
Anyway, we have had to file two extensions on this house. It has been in the family that is selling it for well over 100 yrs & some redtape has popped up. It will close, it's just taking longer. This attorney said that he is planning on garnishing wages if we don't get this paid in full right away. I think he is full of crap. Is he?

I know how to get a free credit report, but they say if you want to know your score you have to pay a fee.

If I'm applying for a mortgage can I ask the lender what it is? I just got pre-approved and all he said was it was "excellent."

Ive used ebay loads but has a slight break for a while, when i used to pay by paypay it used to clear straight away and the seller would send item straight away. Now all of a sudden the past 2 times ive bought stuff the payment hasn't cleared for with the seller for about 6 days so i dont get what ive bought for ages! How is this fair? I thought that was the whole point of ebay! Is it something wrong with my account or other peoples? My card expired a couple of weeks ago and i had to update that with ebay but surely that cant have anything to do with it? Thanks
