Now i called my bank to maybe try a re-fi my car to get the payment lower than it is. yep denied! Why? Cause of backed up credit card payments. Which is leading to BAD credit. So what do you guys recommend? In Credit cards i'd say im close to $8k in the hole. Loans about $3k. So, now my job. Well i work in sales so its up and down. So money is low as of the past few months. Barely making it. Payments are late. Creditors calling allll day. So, Im currently looking for a part/full-time job. Should I leave bankrupt as my last resort???

I was reading that your credit score greatly depends on the length of time you have had credit and that an account opened for 30 years or longer is key to getting you into the 800s. What do you think about opening a credit card in your baby's social security number so he/she will have a good start on the credit score when he/she is ready down the road. Is it even possible and is it too crazy to consider?

My son's social security card was stolen a couple of years ago and I was wondering if there is anyway that I can check and make that no one is using his identity.

My van was included in the bankruptcy and all was forgiven and then when i called the bank for the title they said I still owed them about 1700. I have asked my lawyer to handle this and initially she said she had to wait until the election was over in the county and and find a judge who would be open to this???She has since petitioned the local judge once so far who denied this request to release the lien. She has re-entered a new petition recently ,but I haven't heard a response and call my lawyer everyday. She says if this is also denied she would have to do some research into other bankruptcy cases or call some other lawyer for advice. I am so tired of being jerked around on this. I have remained civil but its very hard not having a vehicle. This vehicle doesnt run presently (needs about 1700.00 repair work and I dont want to repair it if I dont even own it) Isn't bankruptcy for the sole purpose of ending debt so families can move forward? Help!!!

I'm told Dave Ramsey is in it. I've not seen it. America has a very real debt problem so this movie interests me.

I am in the process of fixing the accounts on my credit report. It is not bad but it is not good either. My question is how do I get Experian to update an account that was a paid chargeoff? I have disputed it, sent letters, talked to the original company and they sent letters also to Experian and none of this worked. Is this one of those things that will stay for seven years even though it is paid?

I have a zero balance on my credit card after paying it off 2 weeks ago. I'd like to close my account now, however, when I call customer service I get all the way through the menu options and then receive a message stating "our call center is experiencing unusually high call volumes. Please hang up and try your call again later". This really TICKS me off because I paid the stupid card off and just want to be done with it. How can I close it if I can't contact customer service to request it? Isn't there some law against that?

I have fought this battle for about a year now. Am president/sole shareholder of small S-Corporation that has zero employees--we lease employees instead. State of FL erroneously filed unemployment tax liens against me from 2002--2005. Have sorted situation out with the State Department of Revenue directly and have legal instruments proving liens recorded in error. Additionally, Dept. of Revenue contact person wrote personal letter validating my dispute with the credit bureaus. Have had all but ONE lien removed from credit agencies through determined letter writing campaign. I am stuck on this last one and need help. Willing to go to attorney if necessary. Any other options I can explore? Please help!

Hey everyone. I have Good credit, and I am planning on getting an auto loan soon. I want to have my mother whose credit is so-so co-sign. The reason for this is to have her name on the title of the car so I can get insurance in her name. Will this affect the interest rate etc. etc.

It seems everyone I talk to knows someone who has got money back from their bank for charging them for late payments over the last 6 years.

Is it as easy as just writing to your bank??

Thanks for taking the time out, I owe you one
