Is it true once your credit limit goes over $1000 you will be charged a participation fee of $6? I am already being charged a $10 monthly maintaince fee.

I am a little confused about what is a participation fee and annual fee, are they the same?

My card was not subject to an annual fee but just a monthly maintaince fee, so since my credit limit is now $1200 does that means I have to pay an extra $6 a month now?

I missed a payment on a credit card with an introductory 0% APR. The APR rocketed to 30%. I finally paid off the balance and have no intention of using it with its current APR. When can I expect the APR to return to a more reasonable level? Will having a card with such a high APR negatively impact my credit rating? I know that it is better to hold on to the card rather than cancel it, but would this be an exception to this rule?

I financed a car, and after 2 years decided to trade-it-in on the same delearship for a new one.

They are supposed to pay-off my old car debt to the bank because I got a new one and they are adding the balance I owe to the new debt. The delearship is VW, and the financing co. is VW Credit...

The thing here is that they paid-off the old car after 1 month I got my new one and I checked my credit report and I have 1 negative account because that payment was past due for more than 30 days..

Can I sue them???

I had credit pulled by a mortgage company and noticed errors. I want to dispute but I don;t want a credit report from the companies (I mean, I already have one, why the overkill) do I HAVE to have one by them to dispute online?

If I want to dispute by mail, do I have to use the form from Transunion since I do not have a credit report by them. Also, what is the mailing address for Experian?

I have a low score of 592 and I want to raise it. I have a couple of small debts on my credit.. If I were to pay them off how many points does your credit score go up usually? One of them has P and L writeoff, does that mean I can still pay it off and raise my score? Thanks!

I had a $129 final cable bill that went to collections about 3 1/2 years ago and was immediately paid in full. Last spring there was a negative entry from this same cable company under a different collection agency in the amount of $39. I called the collection company who said "You owe it" and the company who had bought the cable company who wouldn't talk to me. I sent a letter to the collection agency along with my canceled check and their response was the the account number I had paid on didn't match the account number they had listed. Well neither their account number or the account number from the previous agency matched my actual account number. I've asked them to prove this debt and all the send me is a letter saying it's "verified" but no statements. I challenged it on my credit report and they say it's verified with the agency. Should I just pay it or can I make them prove this debt? It's the only remaining negative after some hard learned credit lessons. Advice?

OK, so I had a car repossessed about 6 or 6 1/2 years ago. It is about a $7,500 debt and has been sent to more than one collection agency and they've offered me a 50% settlement. I haven't made contact with anyone in probably 6 years.

My question is, is should I pay this money because I'm ready to start a new chapter in my life that includes rebuilding my credit or should I just wait for this to be erased off my credit(which will be when)? As for doing the right thing and paying a debt, I was scammed by this company so me paying the money has nothing to do with them and everything to do with my personal credit intentions.

Also, I don't plan on buying any big purchases, i.e. house or car, in the next two years at least and don't need credit cards, so is waiting the best options?

What is the fine for grand theft check writing charge?Last year I was told by an overseas client that I had a wire pending. For $70,000. Since he had paid previously in amounts of $35,000 and $15,000 on 4 occasions I had no reason to think it wouldn't. When he gave me confirmation I wrote a check to my mother in law
for $16000 and to my wife to be put into a savings account. When he at first said the wire was delayed I told the bank to hold and redeposit. When he said he couldn't I asked everyone to cancel checks. The bank wouldn't cancel the 2 checks. And then apparently have tried to charge me with grand theft - I guess they don't know it's my mother in law and think I tried to defraud - does anyone have any thoughts? I've never even had a jaywalking ticket but to sleep at night would like to hear this will be dropped or if anyone knows the fine I can pay to avoid a jail sentence for something I didn't do - I have an autistic child and want them to stop

Ok, so my car was repoed about 4yrs ago. They sold it for very little and tried to contact me that I still owe a balance. After the car was repoed I never got in contact with the bank or anyone affiliated with the car. They have been trying to contact me and sending me letters to try to call them and pay the remaining balance. The car was crap and I had problems with it 6months after I purchased it, had for 2 1/2yrs before it was repoed. I haven't paid them a dime since the repo. It's been 4yrs I owe like 4g's I still get letters but never reply back. I know my credit is suffering from the whole repo thing. I can't afford to pay them anything I'm still going through hard times financialy. My question is what happens if I continue not to pay? As far as my credit I hear that the repo will fall off after 7yrs which means I have 3yrs to go. I'm sure their going to push harder to collect the remaining balance because of the bad repo report on my credit will soon fall off. What should I do?

I have a qeustion. I'm 16 years old and I am about to start a partime job and I on top of that I have a good little bit of money ( 200-300) from my brithday and christmas and babysiting the qestion I have is.... Is there some kind of Credit card, Debit Card or something like that I coudl get without a parent signature? No I dont want to charge anything and use credit all I want is to be able to put my money ona card for easier acess but I dont want to get a Visa Gift Card because you can't get the money off it once you put it on it and that presents a promblem when you go places that don't accept cards. ex: fairs, school lunch, and other places.. So I really would liek something thats the same as a Visa Gcard but so I could still take my money in and out of it, but I can't get anyone to sign for me because my mom at the moment doesn't want to sign for credit or debit cards and such.. Would paypal be the same? or do u have to be 18? I'm confussed and I start my job next week help!
