If I contest an item with Transunion (or the other two companies) and it's removed, will the other two agenices know about it and remove it too?

No, they are independent companies and do not share information. You would need to dispute with each one.

With these credit agencies, you really have to play it safe. You don't assume anything. You call, you follow-up, you keep at it till you see in writing that your concern has been resolved to your satisfaction. Also, keep a record of 1) when you call, 2) who you spoke with, and 3) what was agreed on (the outcome).
