I just got a credit card and I was having a discussion with a friend about it and telling her that we were going to use the credit card (starting out anyways) every time we go get gas for our cars or the lawnmower. She said that you should never use a regular credit card on gas because it was a commodity and that I should get a gas credit card if I wanted to do that. Can someone explain the reasoning behind this to me?

Yes, It was stupid to pay up front for a credit card, it does not excuse the fact that these people are defrauding people.
I contacted my other credit card company that I put this on and cancelled my acount. It's still gonna cost me, but Horizon will not be reaping my hard earned!!!! I plan on contacting the Attorney Generals office and other authorities about these people. Please my fellow internet folks do not go ordering things when you are depressed and tired. You do not think clearly and mistakes happen!!!!!!!!!!! Any other advise is welcome. I have beaten my self-up already. I hope not to hear
too much critizim

Whilst the Banks are reprting record profits and consumers reporting record debt is there a connection between the two?
With readily availible debt being promoted by the Banks at high interest rates ,along with high punative charges are we being seduced by the Banks and Government to borrow in order to fill their coffers?
Credit card debt is reported currently at £68 billion, conservatively the Government collected £ 10 billion in VAT from this, if the money was used for petrol, booze or fags this contribution is four fold,Banks of course accrue interest and charges above this.
Is this Robin Hood in reverse, fleece the poor to give to the already rich?

I am in the process of purchasing a used truck and the interst rate is a little high with my credit score, my parents have pefect credit and was wondering if they put thier name on the loan can they then transfer it to me if the loan is still in progress? Thought this would be a better way to get the loan cheaper and keep payments lower.

The dealership that I am going to told me to ask my credit union for a loan which in turn denied me. He told me that if they denied me to not continue looking for a loan. Is this true? or is he just trying to get me to get financed through his dealership so that he can get a large 'kickback'? I know that as long as all of my inquiries and applications for credit are done in a 2 week period, that they wont affect my score, so shoudl I look for more?

This is the story:

I went to a club for the first time in 3 months to meet someone. The cover was $6 and since I only $5 on me, the lady at the door told me to go to the bar and use my bank/debit Visa card to get the $6 there. I had $8 and change in my bank (had not received my paycheck yet) . The bartender wanted to keep the card , but I asked for it back and he ran the reciept and had me sign. Since it was dark and I was thinking I was signing for $6 dollars I did not ask anything and signed.

Guess what? There was $11 charged to my card and now my bank account is overdrawn $2.50 and I will have a $32 bank fee now!

Just in case , he was clever and printed up a reciept showing $11 dollar charge and I signed for it, can I still dispute this?!!

Are credit card companies obligated to inform clients of action that will be taken with an account, such as being sent to collection or that it will be charged off? My CC comp did NOT send my statements for 3 months due to a 'system's error', which they acknowledged in a letter. I did receive the '4th statement' which made no reference to actions or charge off. I made the payment before the due date. However, in the interim they charged-off my account and it is being reported to Credit Bureaus. I'm disputing the charge off. What are my options?
