Cashcall charges 100% interest and I was wondering if they get a judgment on me, do I have to pay them back with the interest or just the amount I owe them? It's not that I don't want to pay them back, I just don't want to continue losing money to the crazy interest.

I just recieved in the mail today by my employer that they have to garnish my wages. I guess a creditor got a judgement to garnish my wages. I recieved letters and a summons before by these creditors, and I went to court, but I didn't see my case# so I just left. The first summons I recieved was over 5 years ago. It says on the Witholding order that the judgement was entered in the court on 08/31/01. Isn't that past the SOL? And can they get and order to garnish my wages without notifying me first?? None of the letters they sent me said they will do that. And I never went to court to get this judgement, can they do that without me being there?? Also the other letters that they've sent me before said I only owe about $2,000. Now this order to withold says I owe about $3,000. Apparently they added some interest to that. And that's not what it says the balance is that shows on my credit report. What should I do? And is there anyone that I can talk to?

On my credit report they have the same deliquent credit card listed three times. Once by Discover card for $6000 (the actual amount of the charges) and two from 2 different collection companies that have the total listed at $11000 (I'm presuming thats the 6K plus interest) Not to get into a long story, but these were debts incurred by a loser boyfriend in my name. So, My question is....will disputing the triplicate entryies and getting them removed from my report help with my FICO score?

I am going to ask another question regarding which CC should I add to my credit card profile to add to my rewards. I have excellent credit, pay my balance in full each month, and I use my CC to pay for everything I can to rack up points/miles etc.

I am at a point where I want to increase my points and miles so there are some options. The question is, what is too much. I basically share a VISA with my wife, and have an older VISA that i keep. I realize that you should keep older credit cards for history. I want to add at least one AM/EX either the Starwood points, or the Delta Miles. I also might switch our Cap1 card to the signature to get 2 points for every $1 spent, instead of 1.25 for $1. That is a new card, not a switch. And recently, I have received letters for UNITED miles (20,000 bonus) and AA Miles (21,000 Bonus). I would love to use those just to add to my miles on those flights. Could I add 3-4 cards without hurting my excellent credit? I will not rack up debt.

I went through my bank and the term was only 18 months.. I need something longer so my payments are not outstanding. Maybe something like 80 or 100 a month. I don't want an auto or home loan. Just a personal loan for about 4,000-5,000 DOLLARS. My bank is out of the question because of the payment term. I know in the long run I will be paying more.. but I need my payments to be very small. THANKS!

I don't want that but I see it happening, It's scarry to think that you'd have a certain account number and have credits and if someone wont like it they can erase you from society.

My gym membership defaulted due to various reasons. After some time, a lawyer's office contacted me and we worked out a payment schedule - I paid off the entire contract in three installments (approx ~ $550). This may sound silly...but is the lawyer's office deemed a "Collection Agency"?, or is this a different process? I know this will hurt my credit history...just wondering what the full impact might have been. (ie: points taken off my credit score?)

Also, if this did hurt my credit score...how long does something like this stay on my history? How much will it affect my getting approved for a car loan? Or a mortgage in the next few years?

Thank you!

Business credit cards, (Business name and in some cases my name on card as well) and my own personnel cards as well. About to begin closing company, but calls are fast and furious from CC companies. I own a home but after taxes and mortgage payment I'm left with about $200 a month. Where do I begin and since I owne a house and car, why is bankruptcy so bad?

We are 1st time homebuyers. My credit score is 760 and my husband's is 672. We are being offered 100% financing (not 80/20) for a 575k home. The interest rate will be fixed for 30 years at 7.25%. We will not be required to pay pmi. The closing costs will be about 29k. Is this a good deal or can we do better with another lender? We have till april 2 to get a mortgage per our contract with the seller.

I want to get a loan to pay off all my credit cards and just make one monthly payment, but all I have found is home equity or refinance loans. I don't want to borrow against my house, in fact I am able to pay my mortgage, car and credit cards on time and I have good credit. The thing is I would like to have more cash left over at the end of the month and pay off my high interest credit cards.

I am trying to rebuild my credit after ID theft, a couple of problems that were mine and years of basically not having any credit reported. (I primarily use my debit card and pay cash for everything). I make good money now and am trying to rebuild in order to purchase a condo in the next couple of years. My good accounts (rental, club, cable, cell, etc.) have not reported my good credit. So how many cards should I take out that will help boost my credit score but not hinder my credit. Thank you!
