This is the story:

I went to a club for the first time in 3 months to meet someone. The cover was $6 and since I only $5 on me, the lady at the door told me to go to the bar and use my bank/debit Visa card to get the $6 there. I had $8 and change in my bank (had not received my paycheck yet) . The bartender wanted to keep the card , but I asked for it back and he ran the reciept and had me sign. Since it was dark and I was thinking I was signing for $6 dollars I did not ask anything and signed.

Guess what? There was $11 charged to my card and now my bank account is overdrawn $2.50 and I will have a $32 bank fee now!

Just in case , he was clever and printed up a reciept showing $11 dollar charge and I signed for it, can I still dispute this?!!

I've been a bartender for a long time. What he did is add himself a little tip! if it is all in C.C. ink ( the 11 dollars) and signed, they will win the dispute! if the extra two dollars was written in pen, then you can dispute. but sorry if the final receipt of $11 was ran through credit card machine, and you signed it, there's nothing you can do.. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CREDIT RECEIPT NO MATTER WHERE YOU USE IT!

Did he give you 11 dollars or 6? Did the Bartender know you had already paid $5.00? I am sure you know all of the answers to these but I don't. I am afraid if you signed it, you are liable for the fees. Sorry but its just how it works, unless you can get the bartender and lady both to sign something to the affect that they had made a mistake.

Your bank will probably not give you any slack since your signature is on that receipt and also you were in a club (a place where you may have been intoxicated).
