In Scotland now the credit card machines will only work if your card has a chip in, I am from USA and ours doesnt have this I called the Visa and they dont know anything about a chip?? Anyone out there have a solution to this problem?????

I'm glad to hear that Europe is leading the way in the technology of chip and pin!

You probably need to go into the bank and explain the problem to the cashier. Take your passport. They should still have the old fashioned machine in back somewhere!

Think your referring to ATM machines, Don't know exactly what your problem is. Last few months chip and pin has been introduced to UK. There will be problems :) to big a question to ask on here,contact your visa card provider :)

You should still be able to use your traditional "swipe" VISA card in the UK if your card does not have a 'chip'.

Maybe the sales staff in the stores don't know this, but if you get them to swipe your card it will instruct them to get a signature from you, in the old fashioned way.
