I had an account that was overdrawn, and it was closed. The bank sent me to Check Systems. I paid off the total amount, but I'm still listed. Are there any banks that will open an account for me?

That's prety much the only asset I have, and I was wondering if a collection agency can seize it as collateral. I haven't signed any contracts with my car as collateral, so I don't think so, but I just wanna make sure. Also, can they get my cell phone number if I don't give it to them?

This is for our daughter, we have no problem co-signing as she is extremely responsible and cares as much about her credit as we do ours. We have an excellent score...799...but she is consolidating student loans which total about $35,000. Our income is around $70,000 and I'm afraid with that kind of debt we won't be able to buy anything. She already has a loan approval for 10%, our co-signing will just improve her interest rate. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Getting a personal loan from a bank or going through one of the companies that offer to cut your bills by a percentage and help you pay it off within a couple years. If I go through the bank, I can pay it off at once, right? However, will the interest (which I don't think is part of the alternative) kill me in the long run and put me back at square one?

I am conducting research on credit restoration/repair companies and scam artists. Anyone who reads my posts knows that I am a proponent of credit restoration. And I support using the three legitimate credit restoration companies in the US. But I would like to hear of any experiences people have had with others. I do not want to hear about Lexington Law. I already have mountains of data on them, and not much of it good. I want to hear about all the others out there. Let me know who you used and what the results were. People who only want to post that credit repair is a scam, please do waste my time with your uneducated claptrap, I want legitimate answers only please.

BIG PROBLEM! back in 1997 my son was 2 We did our taxes, got a check and then a few months later we were told we owed them money back (which we paid in 99) plus $3,000 more in interest. We always thought it was an error in our prepartion but this year we find out it was the earned income we were denied? This year they are holding my earned income again for further review. How could we be denied if I was only making $9 an hr my husband was sick with cancer and out of work? Now I am thinking that there was an error on the governments part but they tell me its to late to dispute I only had 3 yrs But they have 10? My question is why would I be denied in the first place and second if they made a mistake why can't I do anything about that? Is it fair that I paid them back $1500 plus $3000 interest for something they screwed up on in the first place? If anyone knows anything about this please respond.. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!

Good afternoon all web surfers!

I have lived in the US for almost 1 and a half years.
I have had problems to get a job and not earned very much.
My spouse and I stand on the lease for our apartment and it has been paid every month(7 months now).
I have also paid several other bills.
I have got a credit card with a credit limit of $300.
Do I have enough credit history now?
Is my credit still to low to rent an apartment for an example?
Are there anywhere you can check your credit score for fee without signing up for something or paying a fee?
Is it always a bad thing if several companies check your credit?

Please help a legal emigrant!

I'm thinking of cancelling one of my two credit cards and get a new one with more benefits with the same bank (BofA). I want to know if my Credit Score will be affected with this action. The credit card I want to cancel is the first one I got in my life. I have had it for almost 2 years. Hope to receive any advice on this. Regards, MT

I've read all the info on www.e-gold.com and understand how to set up an account and how to pay someone by using e-gold but I just don't understand how & where I can actually buy e-gold from apart from using a credit or debit card on-line (which I don't have). I've asked the buyer if they'd take paypal instead but unfortunately they wont.

So if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

I know a dead beat who isn't making car payments and refuses to call back the dealership (since it was leased) to turn the car in. Is there anyway I can report the whereabouts of the car anonymously? They think he still lives in another state but he actually moved 6 months ago.

My whole life I have been told its not good to have too many open credit cards that you dont use.. but on here it appears that people are saying it is hurtful to your credit score to close out credit cards.
Thinking about is rationally I would think that closing accounts you dont use would help your score since you are lowering your potential future debt which would give you less chance of getting in trouble finacially...
